LOL, Guess what ladies?

I"m getting quite used to my earrings today. I received a lovely compliment and I must admit it's amazing how quickly one adapts in nicely to large diamonds. I thought at first glance they were a bit much for me since I worry about being too flashy etc... NAH. What was I thinking? I LOVE my earrings now and they aren't going anywhere. I"m happy to call my SA to let them know no worries about finding a downsize. That sure won't be needed anymore.

Thanks everyone for all your support. And a pretty pic will be to follow soon.... Can't wait to hear everyone's feedback.

Looking forward to the fall when the diamond ring will follow. Boy this diamond stuff sure does get addicting.

I think I love/enjoy it more then handbags.:smile1:

^^YAY!!! Enjoy those beauties......you know diamonds do get smaller over time :D. Seriously, they shrink all the time.......almost have my hubby believing it.

I just took a quick pic but the camera can't do justice. I"ll try to take some more later this week. Meanwhile - thoughts?

I don't see myself sending these back!;)

ITA! Either that or our eyesight becomes worse with age! In any case, lovebags2, your earrings are gorgeous, I'm glad you're keeping them! Trust me, if you had gotten a smaller pair, you'll be hankering after an upgrade in a few years.

I almost bought a pair of about 3cttw, then my jeweller showed me a 4cttw and I thought why not just get the largest pair that my lobes and budget would allow. I wouldn't have to upgrade again and I could wear them till I'm an old old lady. Plus I could concentrate on getting other jewellery!

Thanks Ladies!
It's funny how although it definetely did take me a little time to warm up to such large diamonds it sure didn't take THAT long! LOL

I think I"m all set now for quite awhile. I'm happy!

Now I could use everyone's help for the diamond engagement upgrade. ;)

Congrats, Lovebags2--those are beautiful. It's nice that you were able to get G Si2s also, and Ideal Cut (which is most important). I have a large pair of earrings (close to 2 ctw) and the thing that I actually like best about them is not the size but the fact that they are H VS2 and super-ideal cut (ACAs from Whiteflash which are a brand of hearts and arrows). People always say that you don't need the same quality in earrings, but I feel like, earrings get dirty so much faster than rings (hair care products, etc. etc) and its nice to have a quality that looks great even when a little cleaning is in order. Plus, I like knowing that my earrings are of a quality that, if I ever wanted to make a ring out of them, it would work. Or if I leave one apiece to my sons, they could a beautiful ring apiece for some luckly girl.

I don't see going any bigger--these are way bigger than anything I could have ever dreamed of (and were given in a romantic way). But we all have different tastes (and different ear lobe sizes). some people wouldn't wear over 1 ctw (I know people like that) and some can rock 4! It's all individual. The only thing I would suggest is, I think your earrings are large enough that you probably want to consider getting special backs for them. AT 2ctw, it's not an issue yet, but I think by 2.50 ctw, you can start to have the droop thing going on and also your earring holes can stretch and your lobes be pulled out of shape. but this doesn't happen, if you get those special wider more supportive earring backs. as we women get older (you're probably not there yet, but I'm 50, so I think about these things), our earlobes lose elasticity and its not good--so it's probably a good idea if you take pre-emptive action and keep beautiful earrings AND beautiful ears.

Thanks for this great advice!
Here's my update:
The other day I noticed the earrings actually started to feel uncomfortable. I "think" because they were just too large for me OR maybe it was the setting since I sleep in? Either way I decided to exchange them if you can believe for the 2.5 (which was what my original instincts thought would be the ideal size) and go up in both color and clarity. It feels nice having F color. Gorgeous!!!

I'm not disappointed in downsizing size. Total opposite - I"m thrilled actually. The other day in the store I felt the 2.5 looked prettier/more proportionate (my family did too) AND I"m excited about the higher quality. They will arrive this week. Can't wait and of course will post pics.

On a side note, we upgraded my engagement ring too this weekend. Wowsers. That's all I can say. I already received a lovely compliment on it from the store manager. She wanted to know if I purchased in her store because she said it was one of the prettiest rings she's ever seen.

You can't help but notice this ring. It's an antique cushion. I love it!!!!

Just one last thought... Big thanks again to everyone here for support. I couldn't have found my perfect diamond studs and E ring without all the sound advice here.

Btw - I think everyone's rings/earrings here are just gorgeous! It really doesn't matter which color/clarity you ultimately choose. I think they ALL look lovely here! :smile1:

^^YOUR comfort level/happiness is what matters the most. Glad you came to 'terms' with your decision and are at peace. I think we all know what it is like to obsess over a purchase/decision/uncertainty and how good it feels to do what you want and enjoy what you have. Can't wait to see pics of both the earrings and the new upgraded diamond. Congrats!!

Thanks for your kind words!
Exactly I have to be comfortable. That's what it's all about. I think I was trying to hard to love the larger size when in reality the smaller/higher quality were more my personality. I"m glad I followed my initial instincts as it wasn't easy since the 3 ct were quite pretty as well. I just took the earrings starting to irritate my ears as a "sign" and the rest came naturally on what to do from there.:smile1:
