Hello everyone,

Recently I’ve been in love with Hermes bags (I think our tastes get better with age?). I have many bags from other brands like Chanel, Celine, Dior and this year I saw a Picotin in RL- I loved it!- so I decided to hunt one from their websites after months of trying, and I was lucky enough to grab one in orange 🍊😍
Seeing their quality and craftsmanship made me to consider buying only Hermes bags in the future!
After reading the posts here I realized that my chances in buying the bags I want in the exact colors I want are very low especially if I want to build a profile, that’s why I should consider a personal shopper with their prices 😅..
I decide to post my two options here and I need your opinions as experts:
1- I buy a 24/24 mini in gold with GHW (of course from a personal shopper)
Or
2- I should save up my money (and wait at least another year to double my money😆) and purchase a 25 Birkin in gold with GHW from a personal shopper

What would you do? I would appreciate your inputs 🙏

If a 24/24 mini will make you as happy as a 25B, then go for the 24/24. I think it will be a lot more expensive than double when all is said and done. :)

I also thought when I started to buy Hermes bags, that nothing else compared. And, that I would never go back to Chanel etc. well, I was wrong. So, I learned the hard way that there is room in a wardrobe for different premier bag brands, and not to rehome too quickly. :)

Forgot to add, do try one on IRL first; and of course authenticate prior to purchase (members here tend to use @bababebi. Pay with a fee based form of payment like PayPal backed by Amex; and buy only from a reputable reseller that accepts returns.

Some members find the hand held drop of a B25 too tight. The complaint is that it’s much easier to sling a B30 along one’s arm. So, many think of this as strictly a hand held bag. I believe that some members also felt like it was too petite. (Full disclosure: I love mine, and I can sling it along my arm, but I do carry it by hand). I’m 5’2”, medium build, with not particularly small wrists/hands.

ETA: I tend to be very casual at night when I go out. Some restaurants I frequent do not have dedicated chairs for bags, or even a lot of room in my seat or table. So, even a K25, is a bit too bulky for me at night. I use a MKII or mini Evelyn which can remain crossbody or in my lap. I use a B25 as a day bag. It is one of my favorite bags, but it’s not the one I use the most. I have thought quite a bit about getting a 24/24 mini, but haven’t yet bc I have enough in that mini cross body category. I do agree with others that one bag tends not to be enough, so it might be a question of which one to save funds for the first purchase.

Also, coincidentally, in the unpopular opinions thread, some members recently stated that they preferred the 24/24 to a birkin, post 6166 and 6168

My first brand bag was LV, and then I started collecting Chanel. Now I’m working on getting Hermes bags.

I am owner of B25.

This year, following the recommendations from friends in the group, I returned from Paris with two bags: a P18 and a Constance Elan.

I’m 160 cm tall, I’m of average weight, so I can use the B25 daily and really love the leather (e.g., Togo).

Honestly, I agree with @880 that one Hermes bag is never enough.

If I were you, I would try to get an Evelyn if there's a store in your local city. You already have a Picotin in your name. Then, I would give myself some time and consider buying the B25. As @addiCCted mentioned, your mind will always be on it.

oouuu!! As someone who has the 24/24 29 and B30... get BOTH!! :D

Birkins are like super totes imo. Totes that attract attention, especially from thieves! Only carry Birkins in safe areas or bring a bodyguard if you're going somewhere causal. You can go in and out of them easily. I keep my top flap open and tucked away but I've only seen them closed twice ever.

The 24/24 is a proper purse. IYKYK peeps are delighted to see understated bags. Others compliment, but don't know what it is. I just say it's from TJ Maxx if they ask too many questions haha. 24/24 is easily carried, casual, and chic. I take it everywhere

You mention saving money? Are you young too? if you're young like me you might have a Switch. a oled Switch doesn't fit too well in a B25 because it stretches the bag a bit, it fits better in a B30. If you're worried about diminishing value, get both. A 24/24 has a low resale price anyway so you can just buy another one or easily add more colors to your wardrobe. B25 isn't for casual use because y'know the leather and handles loosen if you take it out too often. Birkins are such delicate totes
