I brought home a new one after almost 2 hrs looked at it at the store. But now i am at home and I found small scratches but it is hard to see it. Also the chain has shied the end of part of the leather. I texted my sa and she said it was normal. And she seemed not happy. I guess I just keep it since they are all look the same and can’t find one look perfect from Chanel nowaday. Let me know what u think?

That chain looks normal but that scratch is not. It is a literal tear on the bag. And there is a good chance, it may get worse. I had a similar tear on my white coco handle. I was heart broken as I loved it so much but I had to return it because the tear was visible.

Your SA is not nice! That is not good customer service. And who cares if you spend 2 or 5 hours at the store. That is a rude comment!

When I showed the tear to my SA, she took it back, then came back, apologized that she cannot get it out, and offered it to exchange or return right away. I am not a ViP customer by any means.

This is why I have also decided not to get a white Chanel bag. Although I love them so much! I am looking for pre loved route as well

I think the issue nowadays is when we buy luxury handbags, we want it to be PERFECT like an iPhone. But iPhones are factory made. Not a single speck of dust, not a single hairline scratch....

Truth is, the strap looks normal to me. The little dent, I don't like, especially on caviar. If I were in your shoes, I'd return the bag and not buy Chanel for a very long time. Your SA is not nice. This is not cool.

I had a similar experience with Louis Vuitton recently. I pre-ordered something. When the item didn't arrive on time, I asked for a refund, only to be told that no returns are possible. Like what? I never even saw or touched the bag. Needless to say, I won't be buying LV for a VERY LONG TIME.
the scratches are hard to see, first I thought it was a durst, I then used the cloth to get it off but it didn’t go away, so I used camera to zoom in and found it was a couple scratches there…i will return and won’t buy Chanel at least for awhile. My sa is not nice. She was asking me to come back Wednesday and exchanged it to the 1st one that I didn’t like at beginning. I was going to but now Since she is not nice I won’t bother her anymore and I will just return it without look at anything else. I am very stressed out and I hate when I return it I will get a dirty look from them.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I completely understand because I had a very similar experience last year. One of my SA's made me feel terrible for returning a handbag that had the same issue on the chain. Your chain isn't lifting yet, but mine was lifting apart and once I found out it couldn't be fixed I decided to return it. He called.me "nit picky"! I sent him a long text explaining I understand these bags are hand made and certain things will not be perfect, but for a $8k handbag I cannot settle for issues that are not handmade flaws but infact problems with the bag. I want as close to perfect as possible. And soon enough I found that perfect one (lucky #7) and I'm so happy that I didn't settle. I had a worse experience with another SA who sold me a used bag and then refused to speak to me after. Some of these SA's have been so horrible to me but I have learned not to let them bully me into accepting a bag. You're spending the money, it's your right to do as you wish. It's their job to work with you, period. You'll find a really good one eventually!!

If I were you, I'd go in before Wednesday and speak to a different SA. I'd explain that quality of the bag is very important to you and you would like to work with someone else who can understand that. I wouldn't bother with your original SA.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
You are right about the caviar should not be scratches so easy. My sa is on vacation and won’t be back until Wednesday and her coworker was helping her this morning to help me with the bag. She said her coworker said I spent 2hrs there to look at the bag but I just reviewed my receipt and realize i was there for < an hour max. She said no client spends too much time look at the bag except me  I don’t think it is true. She sound like really pissed off if I decide to return . I am asking around to see if anyone had bought 23s white cf to see how they like it but I have not seen anyone responses yet…
Personally, I will return it if I am not happy. You will just be thinking of it and might regret not returning it. And so what If you took 2 hours to check on a bag? That's your money and you are just making sure that you are buying a bag with no defects. Don't feel bad if you will return the bag. Just look for another SA who can help.

Well said!

Sorry you are going through this. Buying a chanel bag should be a joyous thing, not something that stresses a person out! You definitely need to get a new SA. I would return the bag to the store (you don’t need to go back to her) and look for a bag that makes you happy. Crossing my fingers for you; your bag is out there somewhere waiting for you!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Yea I wanted to go return sooner but my sa told me to wait for her when she gets back Wednesday because she wanted me to look at and exchange the 1st one that I original looked at. Also she said she doesnt want me to use too much of her co-worker’s time since I am her client and they work in commissions. So I have to wait for her I guess.

I'm still looking to score my first CF, too. My SA was very nice and helped me to exchange twice but every time i brought the new one home, I found many problems that i did not catch at the store. I felt bad for returning because she was very nice to exchange for me, but then later i decided to return the bag as i'm not happy with the purchase due to quality issues. it's over $11k with tax, i expected it to be close to perfect. I was told that i will never be able to find a perfect CF "unless it's a fake". My SA just stopped responding to my message after i returned it. It's kinda sad but i don't blame her. i guess i will just take time to get my dream CF with another SA.

I don't think its good idea to take back the one that u already returned as you were not happy with the bag quality. It is an expensive bag, just wait until you find a right one.

I know my sa will do the same she won’t respond to my text anymore if I return the bag. She was already so mean to me by telling me this or that when I told her what problems of the bag. Btw, I see so many cf there at the store when I was there a couple times, seems like not many people interested in Chanel bags like they used to. Now I am scare of her if I spend my time look at another bags then don’t buy the bag… I just return it and wont buy anymore chanel bag for awhile.

People are definitely being more careful and selective now. If your previous CF is still available, there's probably a reason behind that .. probably a faulty piece. Don't feel pressured or disheartened. You'll definitely find another one when it's meant to be. Feel free to decline a bag you don't love even if you have spent her time looking at it, it's better than taking it home and returning it. I've done that before and it's ok. Just be straight forward with the SA, that for the price of the bag it's not meeting your expectations and you want to continue searching for the right one.

Understanding where you are coming from, at the end of the day is you who needs to be happy with your handbag. Personally, that would not bother me unless it’s a ripped on the leather, mine it’s already two years old and I love her as much if not more than the first day I brought it home. No handbag is perfect, but again it’s you who needs to love it, not your SA, not your friends not anyone else but you.

If you are planing to wear and keep her for years and years to come, most likely she will eventually need a spa and maybe even a repaint job in the future . Most vintage beauties are redyed for a reason, if you love her and makes you smile when you see her, then keep and enjoy her! GLD!
