23S White Classic small flap in small question

I saw you’d posted in the defects thread and I think you returned yours which was right. I was in the boutique the other day and looked at this bag. I personally didn’t like it. I didn’t think the quality or lack of it as you’ve experienced first hand justified the price tag.

If I was currently in the market for a small white caviar I’d go vintage.

However if you think you’ll continually lust after this the buy now but after carefully checking. As it’s in season there should be a few to check from. There were 2 in my boutique last week.
 
Yes. I returned that one but still thinking about it. I have been waiting for a white in small for awhile. My sa texted me and said she got a new one if I wanted to come see and I will come check it out tomorrow.
 
I found a white small lambskin double flap bag from the late 1990's and it was under 2500. It is gorgeous, keep looking at the reseller sites you will find one !

I brought home a new one after almost 2 hrs looked at it at the store. But now i am at home and I found small scratches but it is hard to see it. Also the chain has shied the end of part of the leather. I texted my sa and she said it was normal. And she seemed not happy. I guess I just keep it since they are all look the same and can’t find one look perfect from Chanel nowaday. Let me know what u think?

There is no joy in inspecting every single inch of a bag. A bag is meant to be enjoyed and worn “

My sa seems very mad…she thinks $10,392 bag is nothing and just buy it even though it has some problems. This will be my last Chanel bag and won’t buy it ever again. Quality is not good and not worth it.

Oh dear! Whilst the strap is normal I wouldn’t be happy with the scratches on the caviar.

What’s more important is that when you’re spending over 10K your heart should sing and you should not be made to feel as though you’re doing Chanel a favour! You are the customer and this is an overpriced bag and so the quality should be to your satisfaction. Granted it might not be 100% perfect but near as damn it.

I personally would return. I didn’t like the caviar on this season. I would either wait for another season, go vintage or seasonal. The caviar on my sweetheart is very nice and sturdy and my issues were not really issues as I was super zooming in and being picky. They weren’t visible to the normal eye like yours was.

You’ve given this flap a really good chance but it hasn’t worked out. Whilst it’s your call entirely I can’t afford to spend 10K and not be over the moon. I would need to just think about the bag and be overjoyed and I feel you are far from that.

You are right about the caviar should not be scratches so easy. My sa is on vacation and won’t be back until Wednesday and her coworker was helping her this morning to help me with the bag. She said her coworker said I spent 2hrs there to look at the bag but I just reviewed my receipt and realize i was there for < an hour max. She said no client spends too much time look at the bag except me :( I don’t think it is true. She sound like really pissed off if I decide to return :). I am asking around to see if anyone had bought 23s white cf to see how they like it but I have not seen anyone responses yet…

I don't have a white classic flap so I can't help you there, but please don't let your SA make you feel bad for making a return. If she/he is like that, do as you wish with the bag and find a new SA. Buying luxury should not be this stressful. I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to expensive items, so I completely understand your need to inspect the item. Don’t be pressured or even bullied by the SA. It doesn’t matter if you take all day looking at it and deciding. These bags are the price of a small car let’s face it and I wouldn’t take just a couple of hours to buy a car. When I bought my white vanity I took a long time and went back twice again to decide if I wanted to swap it. My SA was very patient and the main thing I am happy with it. You should feel happy during this experience. If you don’t then that’s a sign that this isn’t the right one for you. You will find the right one in the end :heart::flowers:

I’m sorry you are dealing with this. That quality isn’t acceptable. I would take the bag back immediately and never shop with that SA again. Not all Chanel SAs are like that and you deserve to be elated with your purchase and the service.

I think the issue nowadays is when we buy luxury handbags, we want it to be PERFECT like an iPhone. But iPhones are factory made. Not a single speck of dust, not a single hairline scratch....

Truth is, the strap looks normal to me. The little dent, I don't like, especially on caviar. If I were in your shoes, I'd return the bag and not buy Chanel for a very long time. Your SA is not nice. This is not cool.

I had a similar experience with Louis Vuitton recently. I pre-ordered something. When the item didn't arrive on time, I asked for a refund, only to be told that no returns are possible. Like what? I never even saw or touched the bag. Needless to say, I won't be buying LV for a VERY LONG TIME.
