Where Has the year gone??

Firstly, I am truly grateful and happy that my beloved Mother is alive-and despite her condition, always smiling when I visit.
And that, despite the stress he is under, my amazing Father remains in good health, thank goodness, and that my gorgeous Niece will soon be around to share fun times with before she sets off again on her travels.

Bags-1 in, 0 out

SLG-1 in, 0 out

Clothes, RTW-12 in, 4 out

Jewellery -1 in, 2 out(to my dear Niece)

I impulse bought the pink Guess bag, when I’ve carried real crocodile bags since I was 16 or 17, but I Am actually using it(not everyday), although croc is more me.

The SLG was the passport holder.

I seem to be buying more clothes now that I have a SO!

The jewellery was just the silver and diamond necklace which he bought me on a date, the pieces out were towards my Niece’s birthday present.

My beloved Niece turned 22- I have a large bag of presents to give her when she returns in a fortnight-she wrote yesterday with lots of heart emojis, very excited!
I’m looking forward to seeing her too.

Have a lovely July everyone, and stay cool.

I definitely did a lot of stress shopping pre-pandemic. I was making great strides in my career but it also caused a lot of stress. No regrets on my purchases overall. They had their uses and made my smile the days I wore them. But I could have made better choices of course lol. I purchase a little less each year, but I feel like I love each of my purchases even more.
Thank you so much! :hugs:
That's such a healthy perspective to have! You're right, they served a purpose at the time and that's something we can be thankful for, even if we would have preferred not to have stress-shopped at all!

You have definitely got your signature style figured out and I can see why each of your newer purchases are perfect ones. I love that for you! I also think that your pieces (especially the blazers) will work for you for decades to come. They're classics with your personal twist on them, so it's easy to see that they'll never be regrets.

I would like to spend more time with family.
I'm sorry to hear that work has been hectic but, again, it's amazing that you honed in on this lesson in the middle of it all.
Time, health, family- the privileges that we often take for granted and forget to nurture because life is chaotic.
I'm so happy you're able to focus in on your relationships and bring some balance back to your life. Healthcare is the one place where you're serving everyone else and often forgetting to take care of yourself, so it makes me so happy you're going to prioritize spending time with hubby and your family!

Give your gorgeous pugs some extra pets from me please!

Sorry to hear about the allergies and please do take care when testing new fragrances. I just use a dab or two when it's a new fragrance until I'm sure it's right for me.
Thank you so much for the meditation tips! :hugs:

I was so angry at myself for the allergy. I had tested Akro previously and not had a problem, so when I saw the local perfume shop had the new releases, I walked in to test. I sniffed them on blotters and was fine. So, I figured I'd spray once on my skin to see how it develops on me and that's when I got a secondary reaction. I know better and was careless. I should have sampled on blotters on different occasions to be sure they were safe for me before putting any directly on me. Won't be making that mistake again! It was not a good day at all!

Edit: I'm interested to hear how you like Silver Iris Mist (iirc, you managed to get it). It's still the only Lutens I can never find in the shops.

So good to hear that mum and dad are doing well, all things considered! :hugs:

I wasn’t able to wear one of my least worn bags twice in June, but I was able to use two of my least used bags once each.
Which were my Chanel CF and mini Rejane.

I’ve actually realized the mini Rejane is great for errands as well since it easily fits my ring key holder and card holder. And I usually have my phone in my hands when I’m running errands anyway.

The CF came with me to my cousin’s wedding~
Remind me when the Chanel jumbo classic flap was like the go-to bag to bring to any kind of event or party in the 2010s lol

I sold one purse and one keychain in June.

Most of the month was spent in medical settings or at home with DH while he is recovering from surgery. He is always an outlier when it comes to medical issues so there were some unexpected blips along the way. I am one of the few in my family that chose to not go into the medical field but I learned a lot about nursing I didn't want to know this month.

I only carried 5 purses in June.

June stats

No bags or slgs out.
One bag with matching shoes bought 2 days ago, but not yet received.

I'm definetely guilty of several clothes/ shoes shopping sprees at the charity shop and clothes purchases at the fleamarket at the beginning of the month. Do I feel guilty? No! I enjoy getting new to me items, especially when they are projects and extremely reasonably priced.

To save my wardrobe from overflowing I took several pieces of clothing that didn't spark joy and the shoes I replaced with better new to me shoes to the charity shop. DS's wardrobe underwent a good purge and update, too.

I'm interested to hear how you like Silver Iris Mist (iirc, you managed to get it). It's still the only Lutens I can never find in the shops.
It's a rare Lutens, perhaps because of all the expensive ingredients. I had to stalk the website off and on before I could get my hands on it! I love it, it's truly a fragrant, silvery, crystalline iris fragrance. I wrote more about the fragrance but moved that portion to the Perfume Chat thread.

@whateve, wishing your DH a speedy recovery from surgery. Take care of yourself too. Hugs!:hugs:

I'm so sorry to hear. I hope he's over the worst of it now and the remainder of his recovery goes smoothly.
Please make sure you're looking after yourself, too. :hugs:

My parcel arrived!
I'm over the moon with my shoes and matching bag. They must have been something very special back in the 60 ies and certainly still are today.
The shoes fit perfectly.
They are by a Dutch Brand: Blok v. Heyst in cooperation with Bata International.

I remember bata stores from the 80s! The shoes and bag are amazing and I would love to see how you style them.
