I still suspect a lot of this is about manufacturing a demand, with SA's being ordered to parrot the company line.
LV would not be announcing and celebrating release via social media and on their app with a reminder to save the date, if most people would not get a piece, unless of course it's about attempting to regain some credibility as a truly luxury brand, and pretend their pieces are scarce and only reserved for VIPs.
I imagine that some pieces like the trunks are scarce, but with the global downturn and lower profit margins, this release is meant to be a return to fortunes over a period when trading is traditionally very difficult.
I'm pretty certain that I'm going to be able to secure what I want, but despite loving the white MC, also think what will be, will be.
The good thing about the way it's been handled is that it's likely stopped many customers from being pressured/rushed into spending money because of FOMO.
This is why many countries have breathing room written into contract laws about certain purchases.
I've gone from super eager to buy all of the things, to well, whatever, it would be nice, but not going to sweat it and feeling more inclined to spend the money I would have spent over Christmas.
