First invite, quite curious about menswear/men’s accessories selection available in the past — can anyone comment on this please?

Also lol about Hermes products not being allowed to be worn at the sale? What?

From what I remember last year, a lot of ties.
Shoes for men were not great selection in the common sizes from like 42-44+. Best selection was for smaller sizes.

Also not wearing H products is because it could get confused with products in the sale. And to deter people from say picking up a twilly and wearing it and stealing it. Or swapping out their shoes for sale shoes and passing them off as their own. Or wearing a sale jacket and pretending they came in wearing it.

Did you check out what the menswear selection was like at all? Not interested in the ties as they’re not my aesthetic, shoe size is 44/45 which is sometimes not available even in store so not holding my breath…

Would have imagined that the sale will have security, and some form of security tagging for the goods…just found that a bit funny, especially because I’ve been to other brand sales and never seen anything like that on the invite or RSVP before.

RTW I think was good - but I didn’t pay close attention as my husband isn’t into H much for himself. But in general with RTW they were really helpful and you can ask for sizes and there seemed to be decent selection of relatively classic items rather than weird seasonal pieces.

They did definitely have larger shoe sizes but just less style options! I was looking for espadrilles for my hubby in 43 and the assistant looked through so many boxes to no avail. Saw pairs in small sizes like 40 though. Lots of sandals and sneakers in most sizes.

They do have security and “security measures” in place like jewellery they allocate you a number and you take it to the till so you just pick it up at the checkout. But for RTW there’s not security tags and shoes as well they are displayed in pairs no security tags to allow for people to try on and just put in their basket. It made sense to me why you shouldn’t wear personal H items.

They also make you check coats, bags and even cardigans with pockets. You are allowed to take your phone in and your wallet so you have to either hold it in your hand or put it in a trousers pocket. I heard later on they banned phones too because people kept taking photos and videos and posting to social media.
