Interesting : my SA said the wishlist is a list of pieces you would like to buy. They put down on their list (I saw my SA inscript the reference number under my file on their iPad at the store) items you are looking for. You are not supposed to put on wishlist everything that is magic for example (well he told me it won’t be accepted). I still put like 10 pieces (I know I know 🫣) that are not now possible to order. He told me that there is your wish but it is balanced with your “legitimacy” to get the piece (not sure how they can decide what is your legitimacy…). So I thought it was a bit Hermes like but as I am not a hermes client not sure 🤔. Then when they get a piece it is attribuate to somebody. If the person to whom it was meant for doesn’t want to buy it and let it go they put it on sale at the boutique for walk in customers. So they don’t offer it to another customer if I understood well what was told to me by SA.

I think what this means is that the store manager is able to prioritize which hard-to-find pieces goes to which client profile based on the purchase history. If one has a diverse buying profile, sought after pieces are more likely to be allocated to you with a shorter wait time. I know some boutiques are not allowing requests for magic earrings BUT I also know that certain people are able to request and get magic earrings within 2-3 months request at those same boutique (while others are left with the 1+ year wait or waitlist has been closed spiel).

This could make sense. I actually got offered a hard to get item as a walk in customer because SA’s regular client who requested it never put a deposit on the piece. I was told once the piece will be sold, there wouldn’t be a way to get another one. In this case, it did sound like the way H plays the game too.

At the 5th Ave location I know they have a list and work down that list. I am sure the higher spenders will be offered first etc. I just think VCA has become so popular and they can’t keep up with the demand. When I hear the word wishlist I just get annoyed because it could mean I get a call next week or in a year who knows. I tend to just keep hunting for the item (call the online boutique and check other locations when I travel to Europe). I was torn between the two bracelets anyway so if one can’t be ordered and the other is available then I will just go with the other one as eventually the pieces become hard to get at some point. I am kicking myself instead of purchasing Hermes bags last year I should have got the bracelet when I tried it on and it was available. Ugh!!!

I have the 6 motif RG hammered bracelet and adore it as the perfect daily piece. Makes me smile every time I look down at my wrist. I'm excruciatingly waiting for the 5 motif RG hammered vintage bracelet to stack with it but there's no way to place an order now, meaning I just have to wait INDEFINITELY.

I would love to try on the 16 motif as it seems to be a beloved item by those who own it but apparently that piece is also quite difficult to come by. I would say if you can, try it in person before buying as they are quite dainty and not everyone's cup of tea!

Checking off two of my WL items - the hammered 10-motif in WG and the Magic hammered earrings in RG. Waiting on just one more piece for this year - the hammered 5-motif in WG.

Phew, it’s nice to see I didn’t digress from the list above and bought ‘other’ things from VCA instead :biggrin: Hope to stay the course for the rest of the year! And of course, by saying it aloud I probably jinxed it! Lol!

Checking off one item from my 2024 VCA list.

1. Magic malachite single pendant necklace (just acquired).
Still on my list
2. Single row diamond perlee YG bracelet- (many sources now have told me orders may not open anytime soon so strongly considering 5 perlee in YG now from new collection.
3. Large frivole pave pendant necklace
4. 10 motif MOP

Wasn’t on my list but purchased anyway
1. YG Alhambra pave vintage pendant (ordered)

Sorry to hear that. Did you try the RG small frivole earrings? Bought them I love and wear them a lot.
If (when?) MTO reopens there are also WMOP 2 motif earrings with rose gold (easier way to get WMOP 2 motif earrings if you are willing to pay the premium...)
At least you got other brands pieces 😙
