Starting this thread to discuss my current obsession - the 2023 camera box bag (aka the Taylor Swift bag, lol). Thoughts, pictures, action pictures - all are welcome! Do you have this bag? Do you plan to buy this bag? Why/why not?

I bought it but it will remain in its box and gift wrapped as it is an early birthday present for my birthday next year from my sister! I went to the store so I could see it and try it on etc. but I am not allowed to open and use it until then:panic:

So please indulge me with conversation about this bag - I love it SO much! Even if you don't have it and even if your comments are negative - I just want discussion, haha.

Risky. Vuitton explicitly recommends us not to, since it limits air ventillation. They only mean those boxes for the way home or for a short time. Even for gifts is it best to warp them up again before the occasion.
You might be lucky, but many ladies on the forum had some horror stories.

Yikes, I didn’t know that! I thought by keeping them in the box I was keeping them safe!!

Time for my bags to all get out of their boxes then! I tend to be reasonably good at using them all so they do get taken out for a few days every few months. And I do store them in a dark closet with desiccants and a dehumidifier keeping the room at 40% all the time. I just hope I can fit them all in in a way that doesn’t make them scratch each other or touch much. Right now all the boxes are stacked up.

And hey - this gives me an excuse to get my new bag out of the box :graucho: though I still won’t use it until my birthday!

I had the same bag and ended up returning it so I would definitely check it within the return policy. I had problems with the clasp closing. I know there was a huge uptick in sales after Taylor Swift was pictured carrying it. My SA said people were coming in asking for it after the pic. I think it’s cute but not sure worth the price. I also had some issues with the top when I opened it, I debated about keeping it but for the price I couldn’t justify it…

I’ll definitely check it out over the weekend, then! I did inspect it in the store and it seemed fine, but since I need to get it out of the box anyway, might as well.

I justify it by thinking of it as a structured, petit malle-esque bag (Petit Malle is my favourite LV bag but I can’t justify another one in monogram at the current price, already have the silver Epi with the black leather trim. It’s gone up nearly 30% since I bought it!!) at a more palatable price. I’m a sucker for structured boxy bags :D

I love structured bags but With the clasp issue and other bags I have that are similar looking i decided to return. It also didn’t seem to fit much. I do hope you love it and wear it tons!!

It actually fills a great gap in my collection - a going out brown bag! Ive been searching for one for ages. My pochette Metis is too big and a day bag. And my papillon is vintage and quite beat up (and also too big and bulky for the evening imo).

Clasp issues will be something I can’t live with so I need to definitely check mine out for that. What kind of issues were you having?

I actually thought it was incredibly capacious for the size! Shows how different we all are haha. When I tried it in the store, I got my pochette cles (that I use as a small wallet), my phone, mints, lipsticks, car keys, house keys, and a couple other odds and ends inside without issue, with room to spare. To me that’s all I would ever need on a night out!

It sounds like you adore it, it fits all your things, and it suits a niche in your collection. I say what’s not to love! :flowers:

Lately I’m being quite ruthless with myself - I try a bag exactly as I will use it, and if I have doubts or some strap is too fiddly or it won’t hold what I want and need, back it goes. And of course quality issues send it straight back! I don’t hear any of those doubts from you. Sounds like your problem will be waiting FOREVER to use it :P I hope you enjoy, and happy early birthday.:flowers:

I took your advice and unboxed it today to check it out thoroughly. No clasp issues on mine, luckily! Actually my SA was sweet enough to snag a completely new piece for me so it had all the plastic and everything on perfectly. She's gone back in my closet waiting for my birthday but it made my heart sing just to hold her for a bit :D
