Here is my recap of the private sale:

My mom & I really enjoyed talking with the ladies we met in line. Everyone was kind & courteous around us. The sale was fantastic!

The limit on jewelry was 6 pieces per person (2 of those 6 could be Clic Clacs)

scarf limit: 7 with 2 cashmeres max

Shoe limit: 5 pairs

The sale was very organized and all the Hermes employees were very helpful in each department.

We started in Jewelry as that was our priority. Keep in mind my photos are of BOTH my Mom’s & my own purchases together. We both purchased the Max number of pieces in jewelry.

We then moved on to the shoe department, where they had a good selection across various sizes. Everything was organized by size & easy to locate.

I am COMPLETELY in LOVE With the Lennox gym shoes!! I also purchased a pair of black leather “Jeep” boots.

Finally, we made our way over to the scarf section where I found 4 Maxi Twillys that were calling my name!

All in all, we had a fabulous time at the sale! Good Luck to everyone who is going over the next few days! I personally thought there was a very nice selection in all categories.

Happy Shopping Everyone!!

Ok, it was great! Beautiful day. At 11:45 when I first drove by there were only maybe 20 people in line. But there was no place to park and I've lived in the city my entire life and know the streets. The area has become very hip. Lots of bars and restaurants and construction. I drove around for over a half hour and finally left my car with a valet about 6 blocks away. By 12:15 when I finally got there, the line had grown. I must have been #71 in line, cause they started letting people in at 1:00 and line moved up quickly. They said they could let in only 70 due to Chicago fire code, and I was then at the front of the remaining line. I had to wait until almost 2:00 until they started to let more people in. Even then, no one had come out yet. And I understood why when I finally got in. There was so much merchandise it was overwhelming! I spent 2 hours there! By 4:00, when I was checked out, it was pretty crowded inside and there was no line left outside. Last I saw before I got in, the line had reached at least a block long. All VIPs.
So, lots of scarves, silks, cashmeres. No mousselines. I got 1 large plume silk and 2 large cashmere and silks. Great selection. Next, I went to jewelry. Short line. Again, great selection. I got an H enamel click clack, a croc pendant necklace, and a barenia bracelet. Very nice, helpful staff and they were re-stocking as needed.
Then, on to shoes. Ok selection, again they looked for sizes and re-stocked, as available. I got 2 gorgeous pairs of sandals.
There was tons of ready to wear, including furs. Racks and racks of beautiful clothing, but I passed, except for a beautiful swimsuit coverup in cotton gauze. Everything was from last year, but was fresh and beautiful.
There were also tons of hats. Also a whole section of men's clothing (but no ties).
I was surprised to see the manager and some staff from the Chicago store. I also spoke to some guys from corporate. Everyone was as nice as can be, friendly, and helpful. It was well organized and great fun! People were nice while waiting in line to get in and while shopping and then everyone was comparing what we got while waiting to check out.
Seemed like a good time was had by all.
If you're able to go, go! You won't be sorry. Almost everything was half off!
I'll try to post some photos tomorrow.

Just to follow up on the others, the sale selection was amazing.

We arrived at 10 am and was 12 or so in line. We parked at Park 1 Chicago (850 W Washington Blvd). It was $15 and only a few blocks away.

The three hour wait went by because the ladies were all really friendly. Everyone was really supportive if we wanted to go to the bathroom real quick or grab a coffee. People didn’t really buckle down in line until an hour or less before when an employee started marking off our line with the rope.

Everyone filed in really nicely. Our IDs were checked quickly and we didn’t have to check any bags, coats, or H items. The shoppers seemed really cordial. It seemed like the only grabbiness was around the scarves because it was hard to see.

I started with shoes since that was the first thing as you walked in (and my priority). The shoe selection was phenomenal. I didn’t even get to peruse the shoe section too much because I had already gone over my budget. There were a lot more practical styles and neutral colors than expected. I was able to grab Etoupe Oran’s for my friend that was in the bracelet section. There were also solid black ones with white stitching that I paid full price for a few months ago [emoji30]. The Lennox Gym shoes were amazing, but I sadly passed since I had three other pairs of shoes. There were also a great selection of jumpers in Etoupe, Etain, and a darker red (Rouge H maybe?).

The RTW was also phenomenal, but I didn’t really look too much because I was already over budget.

If you like cashmere’s or giant silks, don’t expect a large selection or any neutrals. There were a lot of crazy colors and nothing neutral. There seemed to be a lot of pretty silks, but I didn’t really look since I don’t wear the standard size and didn’t want to be sucked into getting a ‘deal.’

There was a separate bracelet line, and it was slow moving since they only allow 10 at a time. There were a lot of bright enamels (mainly silver) and some leather bracelets...but they were in a big hodge podge pile that was hard to see.

I’ll provide photos tomorrow, but I bought Etoupe Jumping Boots, Nolita loafers in Etoupe and also gold. No scarves this time and one unnamed leather bracelet.

I did go to the H store afterwards to see my SA. I ended up finding a cashmere I absolutely loved so I’m glad I didn’t get one or two I kinda liked at the sale. (Also got a bracelet to match my new boots and a Bordeaux Calvi card case).

Overall, it was a really long day....especially since we live 3 hours away. I don’t usually do lines or any kind of sales, but it was a fun time and very much worth it!

I’m so glad you bought the gym shoes! I ended up passing on them because I already had too many shoes, but thought they were so fun!

I am really happy about my haul today. Mission well accomplished.

My friend is my plus one, and she got there at 11:20. There were probably 30-40 in front of her. Some ladies were smart enough to bring folded chairs. I was stuck in traffic and then trying to find parking, so I didn't get there until 11:50. I was told that I would have to go in together with my plus one. And they did check both our IDs.

I was in Paris for H sales in January and had a blast, but it was a lot more stressful than it's today. Probably because it's private sale and we were the first batch to get in, it felt a lot more relaxing.

The number of chashmere shawls seemed more than what were available in Paris, but all colorful ones with busy patterns. Back then I was able to score two beautiful neutral color shawls in Paris. Having said that, I am thrilled to find two shawls I really love, Tyger Tyger and Fleurs et Papillons de Tissus. I grabbed the only Tyger Tyger.

Also spotted some familiar prints in cashmere shawls. Three of them I paid full price (tears) .......... Here they are FYI:
Flamingo Party (multiple CWs)
L'Arbre du Vent (red CW, blue CW, orange CW, dark neutral CW)
Collection Imperials (orange boarder CW, green boarder CW, fuchsia boarder CW, very dark green/blue CW)
Aux Purtes du Palaus (purple CW, blue CW, red CW)
De la Mer au Ciel (multiple CWs)
Cavaliers du Caucase (only saw 1-2)
Peuple du Vent (multiple CWs)
Patchwork Horse (2 CWs?)

A lot of 90 silk, which is not my priority. I only bought two, Zebra Pegasus in black, white and fuchsia ( one for someone else).

Then I moved onto bracelets. Fewer selections in gold hardware in clic H. I picked two Clic H, one printed and one Caleche. However I had to let two go at check out because of the credit card damage I did at shoe section.

The shoe selections were much better than the ones in Paris winter sale, especially in 38 and above. Unfortunately my size is usually 36 or 36.5 with fewer choices. H sizing is very confusing to me. I found shoes in different styles that fit me from 35.5, 36, 36.5, all the way to 37. And some styles are very narrow and some much wider. Therefore you may want to try different sizes. I ended up buying two pairs of loafers in 37 (one in color Etain). They are very comfortable and fit slightly loose but I love that. I can wear thin socks in them in winter.

My plus one friend was happy, too. She scored one beautiful Flamingo Party in cashmere, three 90s (including 2 "La Masion des Carres") and one pair of loafers.

Anyway hope you are not bored by my rumblings. See my haul in the post below.

My Nolita loafers were an odd size too! I’m a very true 40. I rarely wear 39.5, and I found that I could wear 39 in the loafers (which was nice since they didn’t have the colors I wanted in a 40). So definitely experiment with the sizing!
