2 months later, my Cartier Tank broke...

Wow I am shocked! I've worn mine every day for years with absolutely no problem. Is there any possibility it was defective? What a pain to have to wait so long for the repairs. Good luck. I hope you get it back soon!

That sucks . But yeah i work for a watch company and its really hard to get spare parts. We do get them but its really a mission and well it costs money for the client. But i hope you get everything worked out.

Hey gal!

I too am sorry about your watch, but not nearly surprised.

Cartier creates amazing watches, has customer service that is unreal. Babyclouds is right - Cartier sends almost everything back to Paris for repair. Normally the shop, whether it's Tourneau or any other jeweler, will never touch Cartier issues preferring instead to keep it completely "in house" with the manufacturer. I love the campany, but my SO waited 6 months for a replacement clasp, and I have waited an entire year for a standard strap for another watch! When I asked why, I was told they handmake everything and keep a very personal touch to everything, so customer service is very slow.

It really isn't Tourneau, although it is unfortunate to hear they treated you icily and were not as forthcoming as they might have been about everything. My advice is, however, you may wait a lot longer for that repair. Plan on it now, and console yourself (ha! as if! not much consolation I know) with the fact that it is being repaired by experts in Paris.

Sorry to say it, but Cartier is gorgeous... and kind of like an exercise in patience.

Wow, I have had it with Tourneau. More than two weeks later, I had not heard a peep about my watch. So I called them, talked with one of the "technicians" because the sales people don't handle paperwork for repairs, and was told that they "ain't heard nothing yet" and "won't know nothin' until another couple weeks, probably." It takes four weeks just for news of whether or not my watch got safely to the repair facility?

It seems like a place that exclusively sells luxury watches would hire more polite, slightly more educated individuals. I am not really sure I trust my watch in their hands, I should have sent it through Cartier. And I recognized her voice as the same woman who took the links out of my watch. I had so many taken out that undoubtedly, when they were reattaching the clasp, something went wrong. I don't think it's something inherent with the watch, but with Tourneau's own "technicians."

I really feel for you- the Tourneau people sound horrible. I am so glad that I did not purchase a watch from them.
Once your watch is safely back from Cartier, you can bypass Tourneau in the future. That is some consolation.
