I have Gris T K32 and absolutely love it. It goes with everything. Gold is not dated at all..actually it's next on my wish list. I have seen Etoupe but I'd pick Gris T over it any day. good luck.

I have a gold b 30 with Phw, love it to pieces and it's also my first b. Gold is so classic, u won't regret it. Gold is perfect with kids in tow. I also have grist t but in Lindy, it's quite light but it's so pretty tho. ;-)

I have both, etoupe and gold with ghw. I think both are very versatile. I think gold is classic like Ralph Lauren look, etoupe is chic like Vince or Rag and bone look. Hope that helps and you can't go wrong with either of these colors. Good luck!

hi kellyh! i was in chicago until yesterday. darn hot now! you said you dress mostly navy, white, black. kind of same vicinity with me, add beige on me. i would say the good choices would be a gold, etoupe, or black birkin for you. etoupe would be my best recommendation since it really goes well in all weather in chicago, and the contrast stitching makes it look more casual. so does gold. gold is not dated, its one of my favourite birkin colour, again with contrast white stitching it adds a casual look. its so fun to choose birkin colour.

+1 for Etoupe.

I might be biased because I have Etoupe and Gris T. Both colours go well with neutral colour clothes, but Etoupe might be more friendly user if you have kids.

I love all 3 colors you mentioned. Since you have kids, gris t might be a little light. I vote for Gold, it is on my wish list and it's such a great classic, neutral. I don't think it is dated.

I've seen Gris T in different leathers in person. It's stunning but its very light, so I don't recommend it if you have three young kids. If you do a search on TPF, then you'll see that even etoupe owners have noticed some color transfer from dark clothes. At the same time, several TPFers have found some remedies that have worked for them. However, I wouldn't recommend trying to clean the bags yourself, as I believe even those baby wipes could wreak havoc on leather, even if the effects aren't immediately visible. H spa is the way to go. Just remember, denim color transfer is death for H bags (according to my SA), so keep that in mind. Anyway, I don't think either color looks dated at all, gold + etoupe + gris t are classic H colors! But since this is going to be your first/only Birkin AND you have three young kids, then I vote for GOLD.
