I’d actually go for the 7 stone (biased because I have one as my wedding band) and because the stones will have more presence on your hand :graucho:

Eternity bands are pretty but you can’t resize them and there is the risk of chipping the stones that are on the bottom if you knock your hand on something hard repeatedly.

Try on as many rings as you can and let us know how you go

Even worse, loosening and eventually losing the stones.

Hi lovely, I’ve had a larger eternity band in the past and currently have a seven stone .75 ttcw ring in white gold - my vote would be for the seven stone  You get more bang for your buck with the size as all the stones will be much bigger by default and there are the advantages of it being leas likely to snag/bang against things and being able to resize it if necessary.

I’ve just bought a 1 carat half eternity (but nine stones instead of seven) in yellow gold from Iliana and can’t wait! Hoping it will be an alternative wedding band and that I can wear it on its own.

Can’t wait to see what you decide on!

Hello! I'm really liking the idea of the 7 stone now I've been looking at more of them - my SIL has one and she said she finds it really comfortable to wear too. I couldn't deal with an uncomfortable ring  I like the idea of being able to resize it too in case my fingers grow. I just think they also look nicer in general as the stones sit nicely at the front of the ring and the metal seems to taper off in the right places down the sides for the other fingers next to the ring.

I just ordered a new half eternity too, but a dainty one to wear as a wedding band - how funny! I'll send you a photo

Hello @jasmynh1, it sounds like you might have decided on a 7 stone ring, but just jumping in to offer another point of view. I have a Tiffany Legacy eternity band (1.21 ct - 3.2mm wide). The diamonds are bead set within a channel. This makes it very comfy, plus provides more protection to the diamonds (vs prong set). The day I chose my ring, I think I tried all the available Tiffany eternity bands of various designs/carat weights. Not only did I like the look of this one best, it was also the most comfortable. The same day I also bought 2 Tiffany Metro eternity bands (.20ct ea - 1.4mm wide) to wear on either side of the Legacy band. Photos below show all 3 together, both in and out of direct light. Looking forward to seeing what you choose! :flowers:

That stack is absolutely beautiful! Thanks so much for your input. I really love the look of a channel set band on you, especially with the micro bands either side. Those diamonds in your hands are absolutely gorgeous. So sparkly  I’m going to have a look for some channel set bands for inspiration!

Thanks very much , and so glad it was helpful! The diamonds in these bands do have really beautiful sparkle. One thing I always do when trying on jewelry in stores (once having narrowed options) is look at pieces under both the bright, store lights, and then also in some darker part of the store. I have to like a piece in both direct and indirect light in order to buy.

I have a fondness for eternity bands, but as others have mentioned, the 7 stone band offers the reassuring flexibility of resizing later. I buy rings so they are loose in the winter, to allow more comfort in the summer. Hopefully that will allow me years of wear, but certainly no guarantee that my non-sizable eternity bands will fit forever. I hope you have fun trying on various options and choosing a favorite! :flowers:

Full eternities can be very comfortable depending on the setting. My favorite style is barset, which feels smooth as butter between the fingers since there's no pokey prongs.

Look for something lowset, and doesn't scrape. I have a couple eternities with various weights and I really like around ~2ctw (0.10ct per diamond) for daily wear. Bigger is a bit too loud, but smaller doesn't shine as happily.

7 stones are ok but then I'd rather get a 3 stone. I do have some half eternities, but after getting full eternities I very very rarely wear them. I like seeing the sparkle even on the palm side, such as when I'm typing on my phone now. ;)

I forgot to add that a 2ctw eternity will give a similar look to the 1ctw 7 stone. I think my 2ctw eternity has 16-18 diamonds. Have you decided between the two yet? Just to give you a visual, the first 2 pictures are my 2ctw eternity. The last picture is a 1ctw eternity.

Thanks so much for the pictures. Beautiful rings and love your watch too!

I'm leaning towards the 7 stone after having a think about it, but have found a gorgeous yellow diamond halo ring that has thrown me off  so now it's been that and a 7 stone ring I think!

Thanks! I love them too. Some just don’t get it, but having material items that I love brings me joy!

Based on your needs described here, the 7 stone would probably be the best fit for your lifestyle. Would the halo ring still look nice with the band? If not, maybe on different hands.

I LOVE the look of an eternity band, it looks good when your hand is in movement and the diamonds can be seen at all angles. I also love comfort and that is huge for me when wearing something daily. What matters to you the most? Comfort? Size of diamonds? Bling all around? go have fun and try on a ton of rings and take pics. :)

I’d go with the 1 carat 7 stone ring every time. Bigger diamonds are generally better value (as long as you’re not sacrificing the 4C’s) also much more comfortable as you don’t feel the little prickles of diamonds and the claws rubbing against the skin on your pinkie and middle finger all the time.
Re: your husband’s comment about stacking the eternity, you can just as easily do that with the 7 stone ring too.
