15th anniversary ring upgrade

Thanks again Willeyi. I will absolutely look out for the gorgeous ring. My husband and I both had our mouths agape when we were in that shop. We felt like peons in that shop considering their merchandise. But, the sales associate and actually the president of the company were overwhelmingly nice and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I felt that they genuinely wanted us to love their product.

I tell you, I really did not see any difference in the quality between the IF and VS2. I really wanted to find the IF to be spectacularly superior.

I used the Diamond Database Diamond Comparison function to compare the sizes of both Leviev stones. The 3.16 had a 2% increased surface area. The shapes are really similar to my eye.

The deal is, I want to convert my 1 carat Tiffany solitaire round original engagement ring into a pair of stud earrings next year. I can apply this "$10K savings" to that 16th anniversary present.

But I will decide on Tuesday when I go back in.

You're right with the traps. I wanted more of a fuller ("Here I am!") look. (Please forgive me if I'm starting to sound obnoxious. I promise, I really am not.)

Thank you everyone. I think that I'm finally ok with my choice.

OK. Things got a little more complicated.
Now here's the other choice. Both are the same price.

measurements 10.58 x 7.84 x 4.80
polish excellent

fluorescence none

Photos like this are not going to tell us anything. What does your gut say? Don't be swayed by discounts and sales tactics. Which do you love outside of spread and dimensions? What would you buy of this lot (including none of these) if price was no object? What do they look like in all lighting conditions besides store lights?

Your gut will tell you which one you love.

Good advice!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I went today to Kwiat. I fell in love with the stone again. They put the stone in the setting that I wanted. In literally 1 minute, I said ok, here's my credit card.

Smaller! Looks great on your hand. And you're going with your gut, here, I can tell by the words "I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE STONE."

ABSOLUTELY GORG! :loveeyes::loveeyes::loveeyes::loveeyes:

Thanks everyone. The last two photos showed a different setting with two larger traps. I chose the smaller trapezoid setting bc I wanted the center stone to be showcased. (Although I still waffle with the larger traps bc of the blinginess of it all).

I will post the final product in 6 wks.

Thanks for everyone's input and thoughts!

Congrats on your 15th anniversary!!!:D:flowers:

I cannot wait for you to post your finished ring!!!
I've started considering purchasing an emerald cut diamond ring, perhaps around 3 ct.
My current e-ring is from Tiffany, the classic setting.;)

Kwiat is a good family owned company with a solid reputation. The same family also owns Fred Leighton. Without photos, its tough to give you detailed feedback as the numbers with fancy cuts don't help in quite they same way they would with a round.

I would venture to negotiate at Kwiat. Prices in your size range have steadily fallen over the last 10 months so its probably the best time in years to buy a larger precision cut stone. Good luck and congrats!
