I would never get another ring in platinum. I've had nothing but issues. It is a lot softer and more fragile than 18k gold and at this point, looks hand hammered. Fortunately, the remade band is quite thick, but also quite dented and marked. Whereas my 18k white gold is relatively blemish free and has held up a lot better.

I have literally never had any problems like that with any of my platinum rings. My issues came from poor manufacture and when I got one made correctly, no problems whatsoever.

Manufacturing makes a big difference. Platinum has a very small amount of Alloy but the quality of alloy matters. Also, I think the temperatures during manufacturing matter also.
PT worn by the wrong person in a delicate design can be a nightmare, but its great on some. It always will develop a Patina though so if you have to become accustomed to the duller look.

It absolutely is all about manufacture and alloy selection. Some are tougher than others, and some are harder and more brittle. But the harder you are on your hands while wearing them, the more patina will show, and the more likely the rings will get seriously damaged--regardless of metal. Gold is more likely to snap than bend (unless you're in the higher karats). Platinum is tougher than gold though. Platinum dents vs scratches, Gold scratches vs dents.

This band was made by a really skilled master jeweller and was a replacement for the original platinum which was not made by him and was so poor it had to be fixed about every six months. As in cracking right through the band. I'm not that hard on my rings, and not impressed at all by how the metal wears and would never put money into another platinum mount.

I really wanted to get a ring that looked exactly like the T&Co's 6 prong solitaire. I looked everywhere & had seen Vatche U-113 as well.

No setting I've seen in person and in pictures so far look like the exact copy of the classic T&Co solitaire. I think Vatche U113 can look similar to T&Co's with the right ring size and carat weight...like... 1ct rsize 4...ish. T&Co's band width seems to be approximately 30% of the diameter of the stone, up to ~3mm. The height of the band is much higher than most tiffany style solitaires, etc.

There is one picture I found online that I think could be pretty close, though, made by Maytal Hannah. If I remember correctly, she used to work for T&Co. I haven't seen a IRL picture of it.

I ended up getting a 1.98ct I VS2 ACA diamond in their custom knife edge solitaire setting. I gave up finding the exact copy. Once I gave up on that, it was easy for me to find a different knife edge setting I loved...

Thanks so much for your comments :) Do you have any modelling pictures or pictures of the ring that you can show me as a reference??

If possible, would you also be able to show me the side profile of your ring? I was wondering if an I diamond of that size would show more tint as well.. Thanks in advance!!!

I suck at taking photos of the ring the way I see it. :( The diamond usually comes out too rainbowy or grey in photos. You could do a search on pricescope and there are several threads dedicated on I and J colored diamond pictures.

I was told I was on the color sensitive side-I could distinguish right away 2ct G,H oval diamonds I saw at Cartier and 3ct I color diamonds I tried on at T&Co's looked definitely tinted to me when I viewed them in their private room where there is a bit more natural light.

I can always tell there is a bit of color in mine but not to a degree that it bothers me. I wanted to get a well cut diamond in the biggest size I could afford in the "colorless" range. I think my tanned Asian skin tone also helps with making the diamond appear whiter. Mine sparkles in most lighting situations so when people see my ring at a glance, I think they just see sparkle and size, no time to analyze the kinds of color it gives off. As an owner, I can tell that the color of the sparkle is slightly different due to body color vs. sparkle of more colorless diamonds. It also tends to be more moody, taking on body colors of the surrounding area. When I go into mawl jewelry stores with blinding white lights like zales or peoples, that's when I can really see the tint in my diamond, especially surrounded by white white diamonds.

Having said this, it could be that I have an I diamond that is closer to J than H. I heard T&Co's diamonds color grading is different and their diamonds tend to be whiter.
