I like the look of a 4-prong setting better. The price difference for the two clarity ratings shouldn't be more than $100 so I would go with the higher rating. As for color, they're both considered near colorless so I guess it depends on whether you can see a difference, I personally can't.

i love reading your posts:smile1:

I just got 1.50 studs, and everything said here is absolutely true....cut is the most important aspect. On close inspection you can tell my studs are I1 .For color I went with an F,and I cant see much a difference against my G color e- ring....even though due to the unbelievable sparkle (thanks to the cut)they look extremely white when on.THATS when I see the color difference. I compromised clarity since I wanted a not so small stud for everyday use without having to pay top $$$$, but I was adamant about getting an excellent cut:)

Now I know that I personally prefer a bit of warmth in my stones,so I could have saved even more had I gone with an H-I color. I consider them a great everday size, and I didnt pay an arm & a leg for them so another reason for me to adore them:)

wow, you went with an I1, i admire you, something maybe i'd want to do too.

btw, i really like the 3 prong, there's somethin unique about it:wlae:

Aqua it wasnt until I fell for them that I learned they were I1s. More the reason not to get so caught up in the specs....although BELIEVE me IF I had the disposal income to match my taste Id go for toyally eye clean ! LOL These as you ladies say here "sang to me".

We just splurged on my new upgrad e-ring not even a mth ago, so I was on my own buying these babies:) As a matter of fact my dh hasnt even seen them yet hehehe:blushing:

^ITA about not getting caught up in the specs.
I believe the specs are important, but not necessarily more important than how you feel and what you see.

I think on studs, I prefer 4 prong.

Great way to save money! No one gets close enough to your ears to notice the difference.

BTW, could I ask the stats on your ring? (carat weight?) It's gorgeous. How thick is the band and what ring size do you wear?

Thank you Jan:cloud9: It is a 1.92 G SI1 , I wear a size 7 and I did choose a thick band.

I posted the long "journey" in finally getting her on the last few pages of the engagement ring post on top:)
