looks like everyone scared her away.
I am in a similar situation as her, except I am looking for an e-ring for my gf/future fiance. I have always been a fan of Tiffany's and have purchased other jewelry from them in the past for my gf and love their designs.
When I decided that it was time for me to do research on e-rings I scowered the internet trying to find designs that would catch my eyes that I know my gf would love. Tiffany's was not my first decision but after viewing their designs online and then after a view visits to the store I know I could not buy her a ring that is not from Tiffany's. My budget allows for a larger stone than you are searching for, .5 to .75 carats but I know I could easily find a ring twice the size for the same price. I am happy to pay the increase to get a supurb ring from a high quality establishment and know I and she will be happy with this ring.
You should also take into consideration what your profession is or might be. My gf is in school to become a Nurse Anesthetist so a larger stone will get in the way working with patients. So a smaller higher quality stone will allow her to wear it more often and not worry about damaging the stone or banging it on someone.
Hope this helps from a man's pov.

This would be a no-brainer for me. I would hands-down, without a shadow of a doubt, purchase the larger, no-name diamond. No one looks at your E-ring and says, "what a lovely Tiffany diamond" because there is nothing distinct about it outside of the blue box. Don't get me wrong, I adore Tiffany and I have had excellent experiences with their customer service and the quality of their merchandise.

I'd personally go for the larger diamond. Tiffany engagement rings are very lovely, but they're also not uncommon anymore (at least not where I live, anyway). Many people happily pay for Tiffany & Co. rings because they want the glitz and glamour that comes with the name, but honestly, you can get a ring the is just as beautiful somewhere else for less than the cost of a Tiffany ring.

But still, if Tiffany & Co. is what makes you happy, go with your gut instinct. You might find you're dissatisfied with anything else.

Darkdoodle, I don't think anyone scared her away. She asked for opinions and we gave them, and a number of people mentioned that it is entirely worthwhile to go for a smaller Tiffany diamond if the name means that much to you. Clearly, the name matters for a lot of people for a lot of things - bags, cars, appliances, etc. Just because many people note that a quality diamond is a quality diamond, regardless of the store it was purchased at, doesn't make the thread indimidating enough to scare anyone off.

Oh I didn't mean it seriously. I dont think anyone scared her away, if anything she should be more sure of her choice. I think everyone gave great feedback for her to consider. I've read many posts over the past few weeks and have yet to find any negative users. Everyone here is very thoughtful and gracious when giving their opinions and make sure to state that it is "their" opinion and what they would do, not what the poster should do. And i agree, some people like to own name brand items. I prefer Tiffany over other jewelry boutiques for the reasons i stated above and mostly for my own personal preference. I know that the ring i choose will cause some discussion amongst family and friends but in the end it is the choice of the purchaser and ring wearer that matters the most in what ring they get.

i will tell u something i am struggling right now i wanted a tiffany e-ring but i finally got the decision to get bigger somewhere else BUT the wedding band from tiffany :):) i bought the platinum 3 diamonds wedding band and i love it ....i stack it to my e-ring from my local jeweler.......solves the problem for a while !!
Few month later i am back on the net searching the perfect e-ring from tiffany !!!!!!

Go tiffany ! if u really want it u wont be satisfied with anythg else believe me

good luck !

I went through this recently myself (earrings) and ended up with Tiffany diamonds. I don't put much weight on other people's impressions (e.g. size), rather I'm kind of a psycho in my own head so if I knew the diamonds weren't top top notch I'd be bothered every day. I'm aware that there are excellent, excellent diamonds on e.g. WhiteFlash but sometimes the pursuit of "digging around" for the "best value" would get out of control, and end up really tiring ... sometimes simple luxury is nice. (:

Hi, have you made a decision?

I engaged last couple of years and my husband surprised me with half a carat tiffany solitaire. He knows I love tiffany and I always do but it was such a lot of money for a small diamond. One of my friends engaged in the same year and her diamond ring was about a carat. I looked at mine and thought it was such a teeny tiny diamond. Don't get me wrong I still love it and so proud of my husband but if I had a choice I would defenitely go for a non-brand good spec diamond ring purely because diamond is already something special even if it doesn't come with somebody's name it's still bling bling.

I had another experience today i bought a little sparkle .22 vvs1 col G i felt in love in the store was so perfect little diamond and setting i want it smthing small for work .... The more i look at it the more i hate it !! The ring finishing is horrible .... I bought it 875 usd .... Well going back tom to give it back and i took a decision to go to tiffany buy .25 here is 1800 usd cuz am sure that it will be perfect !! And finishing will be great ..... Today my local jeweler lost me and yessssss take a tiffany u will have no surprise !!!! Or a different brand ..... But a brand cuz they have a name to protect so they care bout the product from a to z .... Am so disapointed !!!! :(:(
