Issues with Tamara Mellon Liaisons/Customer Service?

Ok, I have a somewhat weird situation and I honestly had no idea where else to post this and was curious about others' experience or if this had happened to them.

I purchased a pair of TM's (Posh 100mm in black eel!) when they had what seemed to be a big sale maybe a month or so ago. This was my first pair so I was very nervous about fit because I'm normally a CL gal but went for the only one that seemed close to my size and it turned out to fit perfectly. Super happy - all is well! I've only been able to wear them around the house but that's ok.

Then, a few weeks ago I received a strange email that looked like it came from one of the TM SAs/Liaisons with the subject: "Tamara Mellon | We Want to Send You Shoes."

Here is the message I received:

Hi there,
My name is xxxxx, and I’m a Tamara Mellon Liaison. My job is to connect you with all things Tamara Mellon. If you’re reading this now, you’re likely at home. Since you can’t go shoe shopping right now, we decided to come to you.
Here’s what we mean: We want to send you any three pairs of our shoes to try. You can pick, or we’ll choose for you. No payment or credit card information of any kind required. When you get the shoes, you have 15 days to decide whether to keep or send them back. We’ll arrange for pickup via FedEx of what you don’t want, and we’ll contact you for your card information if you do want to keep anything.
That’s it. No caveats, no strings attached. All you have to do is reply to this email with your preferred shipping address and what pairs you want to try (or if you want me to pick for you, which I would love to do). Again, once you receive the shoes, you can decide which (if any) to keep, and which to return to us. Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope to hear from you. Have a lovely day.

It was pretty plain, just like a normal email so it seemed a bit odd. I had a few other pairs I was curious about but was still concerned about sizing issues. A few days later I contacted customer service from the website directly to verify that the message was legitimate and it was. Shortly after that, I responded to the original email indicating that I had some questions on a few pairs that I would be interested in trying. I hadn't received a response in nearly a week so I sent a follow up copying the main CS/Concierge email on the website. I finally received a response saying the offer had ended (there was nothing indicating this was time sensitive) but I could call them to place an order and they would extend a small discount. Uh.....wtf? I simply responded that that was disappointing but I still had questions on the pairs I was interested in and have yet to receive a response (it's been nearly a week). I'm not impressed so far.

This experience was just very bizarre to me. Everything about it seems weird but maybe this is their thing. If I were an established, regular customer that's one thing but this was totally out of the blue and I had bought 1 pair on major sale. Not only did the original email look really scammy but the lack of responsiveness, completely ignoring some of the questions I had, and what feels like dangling a carrot has just really rubbed me the wrong way.

Sorry for the long post but my real questions are: Has anyone had a similar experience? Did anyone else receive a message like this? If so, what happened?

New to Chanel, help appreciated :)

Hi! Thanks for your input!! I actually went to a Chanel near me and was able to see a Black classic flap in caviar! I think I will end up getting that eventually  Not sure whether to get GHW or SHW, which do you think looks better?
I first got a black mini lambskin with GHW then a black medium caviar with SHW, GHW is more glam while SHW is more casual hence better for everyday use IMO.
For me light gold or champagne HW would be perfect as it goes well with both silver and gold jewelry but it's rarer to find esp if you buy preloved. Good luck deciding =)

Promenade bag?

I bought one today. But it was hidden on the back of the store, it was the last one and it was on the "secret sale" they make for vip buyers. The seller said they haven't received this bag for a while and she says it's probably being discontinued. Try to get in the vip list in your local prada or find someone that has direct contact with a seller, they might be able to get you one of the last ones available.

Rubisse vs. Sang

NAH, in my major-league buying days, I would pretty much indulge in the latest of Balenciaga's F/W season bags! To me, however, the most quintessential Fall bag was the 2011 F/W Orange Brule! I stupidly sold mine (and believe it or not, it's on my list to "re-claim" - HA)! Here's a picture of someone who had one; not sure if she still has it ..

So gorgeous! I wonder are they still making new Moto bags? Seems like it’s been taken off the official website! I can’t find any Moto bags there anymore!

Advice needed! Will Chanel replace/repair this?

As your bag just arrived yesterday I would get in touch with the PS. Afterall, you pay a premium for the bag and if you’re not happy you should let them now. I would send pictures (the ones you posted are just fine) and kindly ask for a resolution of the issue.

Thanks for the advice! I was thinking of reaching out to the PS but I’m not entirely sure what the service is like on their end/ what they can do. Thankfully I’ve never had an issue with the items I’ve bought from PSs except this time.

Beating a dead, smokey horse...

Ozanator machine
You could put the bag in a room and ozanate the room over night.
or put the bag in a car and ozanate over night (this is a smaller space if the machine is small) We bought a VW Beetle from a smoker, the car smelled like an ash tray! I tired everything, nothing worked. Then used an ozanator machine (my dad has one) in the Beetle. Smoke smell gone! Some car dealerships have the ozanator machines.

Coach Outlet Quality… not so good…

I'm not a fan of outlets for any brand in general because I find them misleading. The average person thinks they are receiving a fp item at a discount but we all know better. I sometimes stalk the Coach outlet website for fp items listed on reserve and have found some great deals.

Here's a great example - I have a fp large black Charlie that I love and use for work. My niece just got her first professional job and admired it. I was looking on the outlet site and I snagged the exact same one that I have. I paid $142 just last week -- now they upped the price to 190 online. Couldn't pass it up. Fantastic deal for a quality fp work bag and my niece loves it. I paid nearly 3 times that when I purchased mine!

While purchasing the Charlie I came across a leather outlet purse carryall that looked nice and I succumbed. It arrived and the leather is like plastic and felt very cheap in general so I made a trip to the local outlet and returned it.

I am not a snob, purse, or otherwise, and I found there is a big difference in quality.

I did spend some time looking around and I agree that the outlet quality has improved but I did not buy anything there and the clerk knew immediately that the purse I was carrying (not the Charlie) was not an outlet purse and commented on it.
