Preloved Birthday Reveal And What to Do

Happy Birthday, and what a wonderful way to celebrate! Love your idea of turning it into a necklace. I say go for it, since you don’t wear fine bracelets.

I also have a 5 stone diamond dbty bracelet which snapped when I wore it and I have yet to get it fixed. I might borrow your idea and turn it into a necklace as well.

On a related note there was a stunning blue sapphire dbty on TRR recently and I’m regretting not getting it:https://www.therealreal.com/product...-color-by-the-yard-bracelet-8fkzt?position=18
Thank you! I still haven’t turned it but probably will once I get the courage to go to the mall.
The sapphire is beautiful! That would make a great necklace too :P .

Belt bag HELP - mini or micro?!

I used to have a Mini and a Nano Belt bag. I bought the Nano first, went to the boutique to check out both the Nano and Micro. I decided against the Micro because I felt the size looked awkward crossbody as it‘s too big IMO for crossbody and also the non adjustable strap was a no for me (the Nano strap is adjustable).

I loved the design so much that I purchased a Mini Belt bag as well, used it once and sold it again because I hated it. It‘s way too big (I’m around 5’7 btw), it‘s extremely hard to close the bag because it doesn‘t hold it‘s shape, the front is a little saggy so it‘s almost impossible to close the flap properly. Same for the zipper closure because of the weight from your items and the saggy front part, you need both hands to zip it up which is a no for me. Wouldn‘t recommend the Mini at all.

The Nano probably wouldn‘t fit your iPad and things like that so the Micro would be a good size for your needs but the strap would probably be a little too long.. if you don‘t mind you could let the strap get altered and shortened at a leather store

From handbag maximalism to minimalism?

Love this discussion! I never considered myself a handbag maximalist, but before I got into the quality-over-quantity mindset, I had over 20 bags, not the cheapest fast fashion stuff, but none of them designer or most of them not high-quality, yet I always wore the same ones. They were in good condition and I donated most of them to my local thrift store, I could've made some money selling them, but donating is less work and supporting a good cause at the same time.
Now my goal is to keep my collection always at or below 10 (handbags, so not counting my suitcase, weekender or gym bag) and to buy high quality and preferably preloved. I currently own 7 bags (4 backpacks, 2 totes, 1 going out bag) and I'm looking for a good small to medium-sized everyday black crossbody bag (high quality but understated). I already let go of mine before replacing, and I really miss the this type of bag.

For me the ideal collection would be 8 handbags:
-2 totes (1 black, 1 color/light neutral), for work and errands
-3 backpacks (1 black, 1 color/light neutral, 1 functional canvas)
-1 everyday crossbody bag (black)
-1 dressy shoulder bag/top handle with shoulder strap (color/light neutral)
-1 evening bag/clutch with chain (black)
Let me know what you think!

Can this bag be saved?

I actually have a Coach small east west flap bag that ended up with a water stain and mold. I washed it in a sink filled with cool water and mild saddle soap. Scrubbed out the mold inside then rinsed it very well so no bubbles remained and dried it off. Stuffed it with paper upside down and let it dry for 2 to 3 weeks. It looked terrible at the start but you can't see the stain anymore and the wrinkles from washing are pretty much gone too. There is some kind of leather spackle for scrapes but I don't think it dries clear and you have to touch the color up which may be more than you want to do.

Backpack YAY OR NO?!

Backpacks have their place in the bag world for a reason. They are casual and easy to carry, I carry my work laptop in a Pacsafe backpack most of the time to avoid hand, neck and shoulder problems (I walk to work). Also for travel a backpack is essential.
I just recently ordered a Liebeskind leather backpack which I think will end up in my permanent rotation. The only downside I can think of is that a backpack is more casual than a handbag and it might not be totally comfortable to wear with all clothes. Other than that, it's a go from me!

Hardware Talk - Gold, Silver, Ruthenium, Black, Shiny Light Gold, etc.

I’m curious if anybody knows whether or not there are plans to bring back the more yellow gold? It seems like they are quite committed to light gold which is lovely, but would love the option. Also hope the excitement with more rose gold for the future like the reissue slated for fall but that’s besides my original point

Disco Bag Color Dilema

Well if I red correctly you have 1 green (emerald blooms), 1 pink (Dionysus mini), 1 neutral (marmont velvet), and 1 black (daily tassel). If you get it in Peony that would be 2 pink bags. The Camelia color is gorgeous (I had to google to see it) and although it would be an additional neutral, it is different from the taupe velvet. But you could also go for red as you did not mention owning anything red. Also consider your lifestyle and what would be most functional. I personally like to get my money's worth from my bags.

So in the end, I vote Camelia and 2nd runner up Red Soho.

thank you! Yes I have a red Prada Galleria tote, but I agree the red soho might Be fun.

i think in the end I will go with the neutral so that I don’t have to worry about what matches it. ;)

Massai/Massai Cut questions

I love this. Just bought myself a 40 cm and I am only 164 cm. Now freaking out a bit. Will it be way too large :whut: Any of you with my height that have a large Massai (the original) you can show me.....? Thank you!

I am 160 cm (=short), and hele I am with my regulær Massai PM. I like it a lot - casual, sits close to the body and stays on the shoulder. The key, however, is that it is North-South. If you don’t like that it is not a great bag. I come from Bottega Veneta and have enjoyed their hobos, but I actually like the Massai better, as I found that North-South works for me :)

Help! Is having 2

thank you all! always appreciate the advice of TPF members who have been collecting H much longer than me... i was thinking the same. a mini K in a bright fun color (which i have thx to my wonderful home store) and a second in a neutral. and so the quest begins ...now if only it was that easy! :)
I could totally justify having 2 mini Kelly II in my collection, specially if in very different specs. A more neutral and a bright color would be great or a light and a dark shade...personally, I could have a black and a pink or light blue, for example :graucho:
I think you just want to get the enabling YES. There is never too much of anything bags if they make your heart sing.
There is no such thing as too much mini kelly!
I think 2 (one light, one dark color) is a good balance.
Of course not! :graucho:
I totally agree . I am not a minimalist of a 10 bags at a time kind of gal . So ideally it would be for me 1 neutral my mini Kelly in ostrich blue sapphire ( yes dark blue is a neutral to me ) and I'll add one in Jaune Ambre ( cheer , eprom , alligator ) . Or pink . or red or green ( any other color then hehehe )
