Clarification of a “P” at the end of a Coach serial number.

Hi I noticed you posted this a few weeks ago but no-one replied. I am relatively new here, so no expert.

I have read older posts on this forum and also heard Autumn Beckman explain it in one of her youtube videos confirming that the P indicates it is a pilot bag and if it was a pilot bag then there would have only been a small number of them made in the 'pilot' run. From what I understand they were a test run. How they got market feedback would be interesting to know, perhaps some market feedback may have been based purely on sales and returns.

With regard to value of your bag, i have no idea of value. In general I think the value of a pilot bag may depend on whether the bag made it to production, if it did were there any changes to the original design, was the colour the same etc. Like anything collectable rarity, age and condition are also important.

Your style made it to production so you might be able to take a close look at some of the current eBay sales photos of the bag 15947 to see if you can notice from the photos posted and info provided by the sellers if the bag is the exactly the same or if you can notice subtle difference.

Joyous January 2025 Purchases!

Could not be happier with my purchase of the Speedy Soft 30 Crafty. I am a Speedy lover and I was on the fence about this one because I didn't think (for the price) it would be much different than my Mono Speedy 30. But I'm so glad I went for it! The shoulder strap is extremely comfortable and a perfect length for me. The charms are all gorgeous and the red leather lining is ah-mazing! It's not as "puddly" as I would've expected based on my experience with my Empreinte Soft Speedy 30. It's lightweight, but holds its shape very nicely, especially when it's pretty full. Love, love, love.View attachment 6115402
This bag is so pretty, I’m considering it 😍. Is the leather on the strap pre-treated or anything? Kinda looks like it. Thanks!

Birkin blue electric 30 and gris meyer 30 - sellier or retourne

Personally I love both colors and think they both look great in togo. I think it's less about size in terms of the color and more about how you want to use it and which you'd reach for the most. Would both work equally well in your wardrobe, or would one color edge the other out? Do you want a day bag or smaller day-to-night bag?

If you're making a wish to your SA, there's certainly no guarantee of getting either color... if you'd be flexible I would say something like "My top choice is medium gray, gris meyer is my favorite, second is vibrant blues like bleu electrique." If that's the only blue you'd accept though, definitely say that. You'll be less likely to get a bag but it would be more likely to be what you want. Also tell your SA what bags you'd accept were they to be offered, with a top choice in bag style, leather and hardware. It will help them get a sense of your true style and preferences.

Would you go into debt if it meant that you could buy a Chanel bag?

Personally, I don’t feel comfortable buying any luxury item without paying it in full. However, I take advantage of my CC rewards so as soon as I charge it, I pay it before the due date.
Growing up I’ve heard and read stories about people that what they owe gets out of control due to the high interest on their CCs so this left a mark.

Keepall 45 question

I bought a Keepall 45 Bandoulière in Monagram Macassar. I will be bringing this as my carryon when I travel but just wondering if anyone has any issues with stowing it under the seat in front of you on the plane? I want it with me rather then smooshed in the cabins above. Do the flight attendants ever give you any issues and make you move it from under the seat in front of you to overhead cabins? I like the 45 as its smaller then the 50 and 55 so figure it will be okay under the seat with no issues but want to ask to be sure
No issue with the 45 on the 737. The newer Boeings appear to be 2 inches wider and taller under the seats.

Anyone have the complete 1993 Holiday Preview catalog?

Yeah, that does seem to be the problem with many of the catalog scans available online ... they are incomplete. I appreciate you trying though.
Yes and that is unfortunate. At some point, long before I found this site, someone scanned selected pages from catalogs, focusing on bags and to a certain degree slgs and sold them online. I began buying catalogs, mostly vintage. I decided I wanted to make what I had available to members here and created the thread to make catalog info available and Hyacinth added the scanned pages (along with stash of catalog info I am sure) and others contributed pages they had.

Fendi Peekaboo Iseeu Men limited edition - lost the press-stud

Hello,

I bought a second-hand Fendi bag a few months ago. Unfortunately, the press stud recently fell off (see pictures). I then contacted Fendi support and it would cost 90 euros to repair. I think that's quite a lot for the fact that only the top part of the button is missing. Do you have any idea where I could buy something like this?

Thank you and best regards
Michael

Were you able to get this repaired even though it was bought second-hand? I bought a secondhand peekaboo and the stud backing was not on the bag, but I'm unable to return it.

Gucci Super Mini Dionysus

Hi! Don't know if you have made your purchase already but I actually just bought the super mini Dionysus today :D It's a beautiful bag, and works for me since I literally wanted a tiny bag to carry my phone, card case and keys; but nothing else will fit other than those things. Maybe if your keys are small you can squeeze in a lipstick. Maybe. But it looks soooooo cute I couldn't resist!!

I think the black (which is leather) could perhaps hold more than the canvas that I bought, it looked a little bigger and roomier. But it's the same price as the super mini marmont, which is more spacious than the Dionysus. So the marmont is def more practical, but not as pretty as the Dionysus imo! I guess it depends on how much stuff you want to carry around with you!

Chinese/Lunar new year

I collect Lunar New Year items generally, and while I'm most interested in the Year of the Dragon (last year was a very expensive year for me lol), I am always interested in the artistic takes. This year has been so very disappointing (safe for my wallet, but disappointing). I know this is an LV thread but I thought what Thom Browne released is striking. I'm not a Tory Burch fan really but this bag is striking too. It looks to me like LV just gave up -- didn't even try.

Is there a general zodiac limited editions/Lunar New Year thread on tPF for this new year?
Oh wow thank you for sharing those! I agree the Browne is nice. Love the TB bag too. I am very surprised at LV as well, very disappointed:(

New Cartier Love Pendant Paved Released 12/22/24 Ref. B7225004

View attachment 6108817View attachment 6108822

Was just browsing their love pendant collection and noticed this love yellow gold paved pendant necklace with Ref. B7225004. On another site, it says it was released 12/22/24, but I can’t verify. It’s gorgeous! I know some users have been looking for love pendant full pave style in yellow gold. Thoughts?
Idk why, but it never came out in YG! Weird! I have it in WG! It is gorgeous and unique

Spend year ?

Hi all

I am an occasional Chanel shopper. Maybe a bag every year for the last couple of years and a pair of shoes and some costume jewellery. I am thinking of treating myself before the new year but is there any advantage to spending in a calendar year (not that I am every going to be a VIP) but just wondering. And does anyone know the same for Cartier ?

Ps happy holidays
