Traveling ultra light with very small bags (tips)

Absolutely here for these tips and recommendations! One of my bag essentials is some kind of multipurpose balm for lips, cuticles, scratches/bites etc but also incredibly useful if you're breaking in new shoes and want to avoid blisters. (Just apply some where you feel the shoes rubbing and it should limit the damage!)

I've also seen some small packs of handsoap strips/flakes for travelling. They looked useful for when public facilities run out of soap or handwash, but not sure if they're just a gimmick. Probably more practical to carry Dr Bronners as someone in a previous post mentioned, at least it's multi-use!
Paper soap is handy, and I also have laundry detergent in same form. It's useful especially if you're flying, but Dr. Bronner's is better IMO.

"Coco Handle" handle problem

I purchased this quilted burgundy Chanel Coco Handle with a snakeskin handle in Fall 2018 from Bergdorf Goodman. I bought it over the phone since I live in another state. The sales associate sent me photos before I paid, and at the time, I didn’t notice anything wrong.

When the bag arrived, I didn’t inspect it closely. Life got busy, and then COVID hit. I kept reaching for my black bags and never ended up using this one. In 2021, I came across a few discussions about issues with Coco Handle bags — tilting forward, missing stitches, uneven shape, etc. That made me go check mine.

To my surprise (and dismay), all three of the Coco Handles I purchased in 2018 (from both BG and my local Chanel boutique) had flaws:

One had a missing stitch on the exotic leather handle, another had a back pocket sewn on at a crooked angle, and the worst one — the burgundy bag I’m writing about — has a very visibly crooked handle, tilted to the right.

At first, I thought it had been stored poorly. But when I checked the original photos sent to me by the sales associate, I saw that the handle was already crooked when I bought it 😞

By that point (late 2021), Chanel had already discontinued exotic leathers. The SA I used to work with no longer worked at BG, and over three years had passed — too long for any kind of return or exchange, even though the bag is completely unused, with all hardware still covered.

I put it away again, hoping I’d get over the flaw — but here we are in 2025, almost seven years later, and I still haven’t used the bag. I love the color (I don’t own any other burgundy bags), the size, and the exotic handle, but I keep picking it up and putting it right back down because of the crooked handle.

I’m wondering:
  • Has anyone else had this issue?
  • Has Chanel repaired something like this (even for a fee), especially now that exotic leathers are discontinued?
  • Is this kind of crookedness a known manufacturing defect from that time?
I’m attaching both current photos and the original ones from 2018.

And P.S. — I’ve noticed several used Coco Handles from 2018–2020 on the resale market with similarly crooked handles. I wonder if those were sold that way from the start, or if it’s a flaw that develops with use?

Hardware of Celine Luggage Nano

Hi!

I'm currently looking for pre-owned Celine Luggage Nano bag. Does anyone know or the hardware of Celine Luggage Nano bags has always looked the same? Or have there been variations through time? I noticed two variations of what Celine Luggage Nano hardware looks like (see photos attached). The one on the right has a curved ring attached to the base, while the other one has notches at the top.

Which hobo bag would you get - a large Hop or a small Jodie?

Jodie. I need a zipper personally, especially when I travel.

Editing to add that I think you see more small sizes of the Jodie, whereas I have seen less of the larger sizes in the wild. Same style obviously but the mini and the classic Jodie are two very different bags to me. I think Jodie peaked in popularity a few years ago while the hop bag is having a moment right now. They’re still both classic bags.

Receipt Issue - from store

I’ve never checked, but I assume the easiest fix is to ask the store to reissue a correct receipt for the item purchased

How the store controls its stock, which boxes they put things in, what they scan or don’t is not your problem to sort out. The receipt they handed you does not match the bag they handed you. They need to correct their error. As a customer you are reasonably due a correct receipt for the bag they sold you. Their stock control issues are for them to sort out privately. If the system will not allow them to reproduce a receipt, they can write you a dated memorandum on H letterhead signed by the SM with the correct numbers noted. The SM should also manually write the correct numbers on your paper receipt and initial it.

Picked mine up a little over a week ago and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I liked all the little details like the label inside the lid of the box.

It is full story of the issue, please read and share :

On 17th March, Farah pre-ordered a Hermes Birkin 25 Cargo Stamp W (HKD$309,800). After few days, I received her full payment and then I ordered the item for her.

Unfortunately, the package delayed and stuck in customs. Her customer didn’t want to wait and Farah requested a refund. Then, I said I could help her to resell the bag.

On 13th April, Farah ordered to a Mini Kelly Stamp B Gold Colour Epsom (HKD$173,800) . She suggested using the payment of Cargo to purchase the Mini Kelly. I accepted her suggestion. For the remaining balance, on the same day, she said her customer was interested on a Cartier bracelet. Then, I helped her to check the condition. Finally, she decided not to order it on 24th April. After calculating shipping fee, Farah requested me to pay back the remaining balance to another reseller [Reseller A] in Hong Kong on 30th April. I processed the payment on the same day.

On 28th April, I informed Farah that the Mini Kelly was ready to ship. She requested me to send her the photos of the bag. After that, Farah decided to ask Reseller A to check the bag and collect the bag. Then, Farah, Reseller A and I created a Whatsapp group.

On 30th April, Reseller A mentioned “Let me check in person and no worries” and “I will come to Genie's office on 2/5 to check and pick up the mini kelly” in the group.

On 2nd May, Reseller A came to my office, and she checked the bag. Also, she sent the photos and videos of bag’s details in the WhatsApp Group. Reseller A mentioned “Better light looks better :)”. Also, Farah also mentioned “if the authenticator states the bag is fake I will not accept it and will require a refund.” and “If the bag does not pass I will make HUGE problems for you.” Then, Reseller A collected the bag and left my store. Therefore, the bag’s condition was checked by Reseller A in person before she took the bag and left my store. Also, after Farah viewed the photos and videos taken by Reseller A about the bag’s details, Farah decided to collect the bag by Reseller A. This showed that both of them have checked the bag before leaving my store and getting the bag. And Farah would request refund only due to the bag was fail to pass the authenticity.
In addition, the bag passed the authenticity. The bag is NOT a fake bag.

On the same day, Reseller A removed the stickers on the hardware without my consent and said there were some scratches. Farah started to request refund.

At the beginning, I refused to refund since the bag was checked the condition by Reseller A in personal. Secondly, in our website, it clearly mentions that No refund and No exchange. Thirdly, the stickers were removed. Instead of refund full price, I offered Spa fee HKD 6,000 to refund her in order to solve the issue. However, Farah rejected.

Farah started to threaten me that she would prepare to post me if I did not refund.
In order to protect my reputation, I decided to refund under the condition which Farah had to promise me not to share this issue publicly. She also mentioned that “ Deal. I guarantee I won’t post about you or your company, or hint towards our experience on social media if you send the funds to XXXXX [Reseller A]of the value of the Kelly 20 Gold, gold hardware stamp B bag. Thank you.” on 3rd May.

However, on the same day (3rd May), some people informed me that Farah shared information in which I am selling fake bags with some fake bags photos. However, I never sold the fake bags and even the same model of that bag.
I found that Farah kept spreading fake information about me and tried to destroyed my reputation.

In order to solve the problem, I was still willing to refund at that moment even Farah spread fake information about me.
In order to protect my business, I draft an agreement. The details are as follow:

This agreement is entered into by **Vintageone Trading Limited** ("the Company") and [ D D F BY FARAH HANDBAGS TRADING LLC or Farah or Instagram(didfinds / diamondsindubaii ] ("the Other Party") on [4/5/2024].

The Company agrees to issue a refund for the purchase of the **Stamp B Mini Kelly in Gold Epsom Leather** under the following conditions, which the D D F BY FARAH HANDBAGS TRADING LLC or Farah or Instagram(didfinds/ diamondsindubaii) owned by Farah must adhere to:

1. **Clarification of False Statements**
The Other Party agrees to clarify and correct any unverified or false statements previously made against the Company on various platforms and groups.

2. **Non-Disparagement Commitment**
The Other Party agrees not to make any further comments, posts, or statements online that may harm the reputation of the Company.

3. **Proof of Clarification**
After completing the clarification, the Other Party must ensure the corrected statements remain visible in the relevant platforms or groups. Screenshots must be provided at the moment and after 24 hours to the Company as proof that the clarification has been posted and remains undeleted.

By signing this agreement, the Other Party acknowledges and agrees to comply with the above conditions in order to receive the refund.

However, Farah rejected to sign the agreement.
It showed that I was sincere to solve the problem and willing to refund at that moment.
But I don’t know why she was so unwilling to sign it? Maybe she was no confidence on keeping her promise.

Also, Farah kept threatening me to refund, said “@⁨Ones Vintage⁩ at this point you literally have MORE to lose if you don’t refund us” ; “I will DESTROY your business and reputation” and “If you want to know something @⁨Ones Vintage⁩ I WRITE for Mxxxxx on PurseXxx. I have my own articles on her page that get millions of views. I already spoke to her and she told me if I want to write about dealers doing bad things she will publish the article”
These messages showed that she kept threatening me. I already drafted the agreement to refund. Why she kept saying I was not going to refund????? She wanted me to refund, meanwhile, she kept sharing some fake information about me??? If she is really willing to stop spreading, why she rejected to sign?

On the coming days, I was kept informed by my customers that there were some news about me. I knew that Farah had spread the fake information widely. So I decided not to refund and the agreement was no longer valid, because she broke her promise.

On 6th May, I informed that my final decision was Not to refund and then left the WhatsApp group.

In addition, I know the source of fake information. I sent a message to ask why he did so? Meanwhile, he kept buying bags from us…..
but he did not reply me….

Two motif mother of pearl earrings

Van Cleef does still make and sell multiple 2 motif earring types (WG pave with onyx, RG pave with GMOP, YG with MOP, etc.) The 2 motifs are not discontinued.

They still make them, but they are just hard to get and have an extremely long waiting list. You could ask your SA about whether or not they can be ordered and the timeline, or you could watch the resale sites but be cautious about authenticity.

Clash or JUC to stack with rainbow love

The JUC (16) in the photo was one size larger than what I need. They didn’t have my size in store that day. Could that be it?

The clash I was told is already the small size so maybe it’s just the way my wrists are shaped.

I could wait for the pave love but it seems too sparkly for everyday wear and I’d ideally like to enjoy my pieces more often.
I actually wear the Rainbow Love, the small pave RG, the small Love, and the Cartier ID plate bracelet as my daily stack. One of the reasons why I love the small pave is its subtlety.
I think it has just the right amount of sparkle without being too much, and it perfectly complements the Rainboe Love IMO.

Yvonne Léon Heart Bangle: Jonc Coeur Lisse or PM

I have recently discovered this heart bangle and I am seriously considering adding the thinner one to my gold stack.
If anyone has this, or has tried this on, I would really appreciate any feedback. It comes in a size 17cm. I have already reached out and asked for it to be made in 18cm, which they replied they can do for no extra charge, but they also informed me that a price increase would be happening soon so I am trying to figure out if this is something that I want to add.

Coach Color Conundrum (Vintage)

If it has a number, it isn't pre-1970s. If it has a NYC creed with a number, it was made anytime between late 70s and late 80s. It could be putty. If it says "made in the United States" it was made late 80s early 90s.

However, even if you know the color name, there is no guarantee you are going to find a matching hangtag. Colors weren't computer corrected back then so there were wide variations in color.
The stamp says New York City, so that’s consistent with a 1981-1982 circa date then. I’ve had a few experts pull catalogues and putty was introduced then and ran for a few years. Great point about hang tags aging too, I sure do see that with my older bags. Dye lot does matter!

hoop and stud earrings for the boyfriend?

I'm a big fan of moissanite - I have many clear moissanite stones, including the center stone of my wedding set, and love the sparkle. Chemically, it's almost as hard as diamonds, about the same hardness as sapphires, so a great option for jewellery to wear everyday. And they don't cloud over time like cubic zirconia can. Grey moissanite is also super beautiful.
