TJP's Collection!

I think I might have found purse peace... I wouldn't mind having a Birkin or a Kelly, but as there is no Hermès boutique near me, and I refuse to pay the extortionate pre-loved prices, it doesn't seem likely - at least for the time being.

Since I began buying luxury, there were definitely things that I thought I'd love forever but ended up consigning... I've found that I prefer neutral colors and minimal hardware/logos. I feel like my current collection, as it's edited now, covers a lot of bases, and I truly love every single piece - I honestly can't pick a favorite!

Bottega Veneta "The Lauren 1980" Clutch
Chanel Classic Flap - Jumbo
Fendi Peekaboo - Medium
Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola - PM
Mark Cross Madison Crossbody
Moynat Voyage - PM
Tod's Holly Bag - Small

Thanks for letting me share.

Gucci Ophidia Large tote corners peeling problem

Hi guys. Just wanted to share. I have Ophidia large tote for a few month, but the corners start peeling. Does anyone experience something like that? I am thinking to repair it with leather kit. I don’t think Gucci will be big help with that. I own few of the Ophidia bags, including backpack, but this one is the worst what comes to corner wear. Rather than that, great bag. What do you think?

Apple pay

Do US Hermes stores take Apple Pay? I have a friend visiting from a city that doesn’t have an Hermes store. She would like to visit the store while here but forgot to bring her credit cards. Legit just has some cash but probably would not be enough to cover any large purchases. She does have apply pay though…?

How did you start your collection? Need help!

Hello everyone here,

I am very indecisive and I would need your help on how to start/ re-start my collection. I currently own :
-onyx 5 motif bracelet
-Rhodonite pink HP
-GMOP pendant
-WMOP pendant
- the 2022 HP pendant

As you can see my collection doesn’t match at all and is mostly pendants… Now, I would like to match things to make a set instead of just collecting them…

I will add the 5 motif guilloche to my current collection because I love its WOW effect on the wrist. Perfect for special occasions.

I am thinking of getting a 10 motif to add. My SA has ordered the 10 motif guilloche for me to try at the boutique… I also love the guilloche earrings… and I love the 3 motifs MOP earrings…and I love the magic 6 motifs bracelet… I love them all but I currently dont have the occasions that much to wear them (neither the money to spend on one shot!) so I’m very lost!

Now, the price of the 10 motif guilloche is a bit high and I’ve never tried it… I also like the WMOP 10 motif but never tried it yet either.

I really need some help on how to start but it’s difficult as my boutique doesn’t have much stock currently and i feel awkward asking my SA for items in order to try them…

Reissue dilemma: which one is more classic?

Which black reissue is more timeless?

I’ve been trying to convince myself not to get a black bag for fall/winter, but I failed

So now I’m thinking about adding a reissue to match my cold-day wardrobe. Questions are
  1. Should I get a 224 or a 225? I’m fine with smaller bags (currently own a mini classic flap bag), and I tend to put my cell phone and keys in coat pockets during those colder days. Another “concern” I have is I’m not sure if the older future me would prefer to have a bigger bag to wear differently, even though I prefer cross-body now (in my mid-30s).
  2. Quilted or chevron? I feel like a chevron reissue is low profile enough for me to wear in any occasion and can maximize the use out of it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this pattern comparison topic!
Thank you in advance for reading my post!

Revision rhinoplasty in UK

Hi all,

I will be having a revision rhinoplasty in the next four/five weeks and will be updating this thread as my surgery timeline progresses.

I had my primary rhinoplasty at age 18 in Poland and have never been happy with the results. The nose is too straight and I had asked for more of a slope and a lifted tip. My nose is still too large for my face, and I hate my side profile as a result. I often avoid pictures for this reason. I attend a lot of weddings/parties due to my husband having a large family, so this is something I really need to get fixed in order to be comfortable at these events.

Last week, I had my video consultation with my surgeon and he was lovely. He made me feel so comfortable and was put my mind at ease, I was worried a UK surgeon would not give me the result I wanted. UK surgeons are known for being rather conservative and only offering 'tweaks' rather than a dramatic change, but he seems confident that we can achieve what I am wanting.

Next week, I am having my in-person pre-operative consultation where we will take pictures of my nose and pin down exactly what I am hoping to achieve.

My surgery is booked for the second week of November, but may be brought forward to the first week tomorrow depending on the surgery schedules for the hospital.

If anyone would like any pictures, surgeons name, etc. in the UK then please message me! I am based in the Midlands.

Dooney---Where Are The Dimensions?

I shouldn't be tempted to look after mentioning my closet clear-out, but Autumn is a great time for D&B bags IMO. I found an Alto bag I like, and cannot afford at $725.00 (Arietta) until it hits the sale section, but I couldn't find the dimensions.

I think I can read, but I didn't see L X W X D anywhere. It may be Dooney or it may be me, but one of us is slipping. That is too much money for a bag and the customer has to guess on the size. I hope I just missed the info.

Cheers to all. Hope everyone is well.

What bag to use at a funeral?

I haven't been to many funerals in my life. The few that I have been to I was very young. My best friend's mom just passed away from cancer. I'm not sure what bag I should carry. Are mono bags like the Boulogne inappropriate? Should I be using any luxe bags at all? I just don't want to stick out like a sore thumb. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Uk heritage brands for men’s cashmere scarves

Hello,

I’d like to get my hubby for Christmas a cashmere scarf.
He’s totally not into luxury brands (Gucci, Dior, LV), with the exception of Hermes because he acknowledges that quality is there.
He mostly likes heritage UK brands, except for Burberry logo items, and he wears a lot of Ben Sherman polo, so with a ‘60s vibe. He taught me of brands I’ve never heard before, like Baracuta!
I’d like it to be made in UK.
Thank you!

Michael Kors Bancroft Love

Hi all,

I just wanted to make a thread that showed off the beautiful Bancroft collection! I don’t think these bags get enough Recognition as they should! They are beautifully made bags and they give me that Celine phantom vibe with the side pop out! I have these 4 and I am over the moon with all of them! Any other Bancroft lovers out there!?

Holiday 22' Wish List

Hi handbag friends,
The holiday season is upon us and I have just one question for you......What bag is on your wish list? What's the bag that'll make your Holiday season that much better? For me, it's the Balenciaga Le Cagole XS with Swarovski crystals or the Bottega Veneta brick in purple. I've seen girls flitting down the street with their Le Cagole bags and I have to say they look fabulous. The brick I fell in love with it from the second that I saw it in the boutique and I have been waiting for it to come out in more fun colors. Can't wait to hear your wishes! Hope they come true!

Damaged Antigona

Ordered this bag off of Zulily, thinking I got myself a good deal.
I was so excited because this was my first Givenchy and it’s in the color that I wanted for so long— perfect for Autumn.
But look at the damages
I thought there were scratches as well, but turns out it was glue…
And of course Zulily doesn’t offer returns or exchanges. I don’t know what I’m going to do with my self.

What happens if you like Hermes bags but not other Hermes items?

Hi everyone,
I didn't know how things at Hermes work until I stumbled upon a video of a friend of mine who is a famous influencer in Italy who basically said that she would never get a Kelly or a Birkin from Hermes because she doesn't agree with their policy.
I knew Hermes from Sex and the City and the famous Lucy Liu episode where Samantha is told to wait 5 years to get a bag, while her celebrity client got that immediately. I thought this was their policy (long wait lists) and I never really cared about it because I never wanted a bag from Hermes.
I learned from other influencers how it works instead: you have to spend an amount of money at an Hermes boutique, from the same SA, and then they "offer" you a bag. It's their policy, it's ok, I mean, they do whatever they want to be exclusive and I'm not criticizing at all. You either want that bag or not, and you should follow what they say.
As I said, I wouldn't buy a Birkin or a Kelly even if they were available now in a store or online, but I think they are really nice bags, classic and beautiful.
I don't feel the same way about other bags and items that people buy at Hermes, often only to be able to get one day the infamous "offer".
I don't like anything from the Hermes website, but I see many people who buy plates, cups, pillows, bracelets, shoes... many things that cost lots and lots of money and only because they're somewhat forced to buy those to get the "dream bags".. but they don't really like those things they buy... and probably they wouldn't buy them at all if they didn't lead to the purchase of a Birkin or a Kelly.
How do you feel about that?
Do you like other Hermes items? Do you think that some people buy things they don't like just to get their dream bags?
