Vachetta protection without PFAS (collonil organic or other spray or creme without PFAS)?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a product to protect the vachetta of my newest LV bag (speedy 20), because I don't like the stains on the vachetta of my older bags. I prefer the vachetta to stay as light as possible, and I want to prevent stains and very dark handles. I live in a country where it rains a lot.

I heard that in Europe Collonil Carbon Pro spray is recommended, but it contains PFAS which have a bad reputation. As I wand to use the bag as an everyday bag everyday, I prefer a healthier alternative.

Does anyone have experience with the Collonil organic line? Or do you a suggestions for other alternatives, like a cream, which usually doesn't contain PFAS. It doesn't have to be an organic product, I just want to avoid the unhealthy PFAS.

I already tried the Saphir Medaille d'Or Nappa balm on an older bag. That seemed like a good alternative because it's not supposed to darken the vachetta and it also hydrates the leather to prevent cracking. Unfortunately, it darkened the vachetta significantly, so I won't try it on my new LV.

I also tried wrapping a scarf around the handles, but it looks huge on the small speedy 20, especially because I need two scarves for the two handles.

Watches and Wonders 2025

Just thinking I'd start a thread here if anyone needs to know sth about it. However, I don't see anything special this year. Here a few pics for you.

Edit: I deleted some pics as I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post all of them already - will do later.

Long term bag storage in a storage unit - advice needed

I’m in the UK and am moving out of my house this week, I’ll be living in a hotel temporarily and need to move all of my designer bags into a storage unit with my furniture, etc.

It’s not temperature controlled, none of them are in the UK

In summer it will likely get hot and in winter it will likely get cold

My things will be in storage for approximately 12 months and I can’t take them with me because I can’t get insurance, but they will be insured in the storage unit

I’m not very happy about it, and I’m very worried

Any advice on how I can pack them

They are all in their dust bags, will they be okay in their dust bags in cardboard boxes if I wrap them gently with sheets between the dust bags so things don’t move and everything stays upright? This is the only thing I can think of.

I have absolutely no time to buy anything like acid free paper in case anyone suggests that

I literally have to pack them with what I have and they are going Thursday morning

Any suggestions would be appreciated at this point because I can’t think of anything else to do when I’m starting to panic

Small So Black Classic Flap

Hi Everyone! So I am new to the Chanel world and bought my first bag at the boutique the other day. It was a bit of a rushed purchase, as my husband and I didn't have much time, but it was love at first sight when I saw the small so black classic flap bag. The only information I received from the sales associate was that it was a difficult to get bag and they don't come around too often. I've done my own research since then, and I've seen that the entire "so black" collection comes in waves of availability of different bags available at different times. Can anyone tell me what season this bag would have been a part of? Not sure if it's from one of the 2024 collections or a current 2025 collection because I've seen no pictures of it more recently. Thanks so much for your help!

Love Interlocking Pave Necklace - Flipping?

Hello, beautiful people!

I want to treat myself before a big birthday milestone and was thinking about purchasing an Interlocking Pave Love Necklace in YG (version with both rings covered in diamonds). I love the look, and YG version just came out recently (I strongly prefer YG). However, I’ve heard from some people that the big circle constantly flips to the non-pave side, which would annoy me for sure. If you have this necklace, could you please let me know if it flips for you? Are there any ways to prevent it? Also, does the necklace stay centred on the neck, or does it move to the sides? I would appreciate your help and advice! Images of the necklace are from Cartier website.

White Gold Vintage Alhambra Pendant — MOP vs Chalcedony

I’m caving and trying to decide between these two! I have some other pendants that are pave/have gemstones, so I want something more causal and toned down for everyday that match my diamond studs, without feeling like too much. Guilloche seems too redundant when I already have the pave, since they’re both so shiny (but I don’t know if it’s a better option or provides anything that the pave doesn’t really?)

Here, I tried on the white gold mother of pearl and the chalcedony! I think they look cute together, actually (oh no)
The chalcedony is a little bit more muted/dull than I was hoping for, but it’s beautiful up close and more durable. The MOP is, of course, less durable, but is truly neutral in color and shines very beautifully. I’m kind of torn!

Warm weather perfume suggestions, please?

Hi! I'm hoping for some suggestions for warm weather women's perfumes.

I think fruity/citrusy might be good, as I've worn Clinique's Happy in the past and it worked well for me. As I'm 52 now, I would prefer something a little more sophisticated at this point in my life. Also, less recognizable, as once something becomes so easily identified, it starts to elicit strong emotional reactions, and that's not what I'm going for. I just want something nice, fresh, and pleasant.

I have noticed that florals do not work well on my skin. I love them, they just don't work on me. Not to say that the fragrance can't have ANY floral in it, just saying that it can't be predominantly floral or my skin changes it.

Patchouli, amber, santal, oud, frankincense, all work well for me, but are very heavy and not very warm-weather friendly, I don't think.

I've tried everything by Estee Lauder and found that the scents do not last long enough on me.
I've tried everything by Lancome and same thing. Also, the fragrances end up smelling like chemicals on me after about an hour.
I've tried many of the Marc Jacobs and Good Girl lines, as my daughter has several, but they don't work for me either. Too youthful.

I guess I would like something maybe a little higher end, so that it doesn't end up smelling like chemicals after the dry-down, and so that it lasts longer, and has a more sophisticated vibe.

Hopefully this isn't too much of an ask. I realize I probably sound picky. I don't mean to be, I just want to let you know what I've found works and doesn't work, and what I've already tried.

TIA!!

Hi All - I am SO INDECISIVE. I need some help. I want to add a beige bag to my collection but am debating between the following, and would love thoughts/opinions. I am OK if this bag isn't something I wear every day, because in the "beige" category, I use the Coach Lana 23 in Ivory as an every day option (highly recommend if you haven't looked at this style - she's stunning).

I'd like to have something light and neutral for summer that goes with my summer footwear (attaching examples of those here as well).

New PARFUM 2025 - eLVes

Les Parfums Louis Vuitton will get a new member in April. At first glance I read "EYES", but it is E[LV]ES, and as a member on Fragrantica said, Vuitton says it's pronounced ELLE. I did hope that the LVers was a one off weird thing, but seemingly not.

They already list a very extensive note list on Fragrantica, but those can be very off before release. Some people familiar with the release say the notes that Vuitton communicates are:
- Lily of the Valley
- Patchouli
- Ambroxan

Some say it's a woody floral and gonna be:
- Ginger, cinnamon
- Violet
- Amber

Whichever it is, based on the press photos, it also should be rose-heavy. My first impression just bases on the bouquet picture was that it must be similar to Gris Dior. That one is a banger and Vuitton doesn't yet have a proper rose chypre in their lineup.

Unlike LVers, this one will be available in both bottle sizes, also as a travel kit, and they will update the Discovery Set, swapping Etoile Filante with this new one.

If you heard and smelt anything already, please let us know.
