Which white gold pave earrings are the nicest in your opinion? I would love to get a pair, but my SA says that it’s hard to get hold of any of these earrings to try unless I pay a full deposit for it. It will be lovely if you can share your opinions or pictures. Thank you very much.

An Early Xmas present from my Hermes SA

I went to see my SA today hoping to try on some jewelry that I had texted him that I was interested in. Unfortunately, neither was in stock and the bracelet I really wanted could not even be ordered online. Hopefully my SA will be able to transfer it from another store for me. I was a little disappointed that I was going to leave empty-handed when he said that he had something for me...an early Xmas gift!

Which green bag? Coach vs. Polene

Which green crossbody?

  • Coach soft Tabby

    Votes: 21 51.2%
  • Polene Dix

    Votes: 20 48.8%

I have been looking for a darker green crossbody bag and have narrowed it down to these two. Coach soft Tabby ($450) and Polene Dix ($360).

The Coach is more but I have a 15% off coupon, and the Polene has a $20 shipping charge so they are basically the same price. Which would you choose?

Selling to Madison Avenue Couture

Experiences from selling with Madison Avenue Couture? Are they legit and is it a smooth process to get your money? I got a quote but it is so informal and they aren’t really responsive when I asked them to send me a label and the contract. They seem a bit off and unresponsive. It’s been 4 days since they sent me a 1 line email just stating their offer. They don’t answer questions about the process and don’t seem so professional and thorough.

Large Tote Recommendations

I was hoping I could get some recommendations for large work totes (contemporary or luxury is fine). I carry the following items: laptop, iPad Air, a stack of papers, LV agenda gm, bento box, water bottle, and then mini pochette, cardigan (at times), wallet, six ring key, and other odds and ends including my phone. I’ve tried the following totes and found them all to be too small:

Neverfull MM (I’m not so crazy about the obvious branding for a work bag)
Tory Birch Perry Tote
Longchamp Le Pilage
Cuyana Structured Tote
Marc Jacobs Large Tote Bag (I could make the size work, but, I found the bag shape weird)

I think I’m looking for a tote that is the size of the Neverfull GM, but I’d like to find something with less obvious/recognizable branding if possible. Light weight is a bonus. I’ve also tried MZ Wallace’s totes, but find their lack of structure unusuable. What other totes are it there that I’m overlooking?

Is it normal on Hermes Epsom Leather?

I would like to know if it is normal in Epsom leather that the grains gets darken? I noticed, my one year old birkin in gold color the grains has dark/black spot all over my bag and it is very visible. I’ve used it only for less than 5 times and I stored it the dust bag. I wonder if it is normal or it has something to do with my usage or storing. Thanks in advance.

Does my bracelet stack look too tight and what should I add?

My husband got me a tennis bracelet and pave cuban last year. I think they match perfectly, but wondering if they look too snug now? It’s been awhile since I put them on due to being swollen from pregnancy last year. I want them to move freely, but my main concern is I don’t want them to fall too low over my wrist/hand or the diamond side to flip underneath.

2022 Year in Review - How did your BV collection evolve this year?

I can't believe 2022 is almost over! Looking back, I made some significant additions to my Bottega Veneta bag collection. For me it was a year that called for some serious retail therapy, but at least I gained some bags I think will be in my collection for many years.

So how about everyone else? How did your BV collection evolve this year? I'd love to know what you added and/or removed.

Here is a photo of all my additions. Yeah, I went crazy this year.

Cadmium free brands?

After reading about how CA decided to regulate the amount of cadmium present in children's gold jewelry (but not adult's gold jewelry because evidently they can just go ahead and die?), I'm wondering what brands are actually cadmium free.

The only site I've seen explicitly list themselves as being cadmium free is Baublebar. I emailed several brands that don't mention it and most haven't responded. Some have said they just don't know.

I talked to some jewelry artisans I know and evidently it really comes down to supplier. Rio Grande supplies gold that's cadmium free, but a lot of other suppliers don't. The cadmium is used to alter the color of the gold and is also used in solder a lot, so it's usually present in rose gold or champagne gold pieces that are soldered. Evidently it can be used in yellow gold too though. Recycled gold often has a higher percentage of cadmium due to the higher percentage of solder in it.

There's no non-destructive test for cadmium too, so all the pieces in my collection are now suspect.

Chanel garment bags in Japan

Hi Everyone,

Need some help understanding what the policy is in Japan for coat bags. We've got a tweed jacket yesterday from the Ginza store and they put the coat in this thin material what looks like a temporary bag rather than the usual black coat bag (picture attached). When we asked the sales associate, she said they use this for any first time customers in Japan, and if I buy clothes in the future they will use the black jacket bags. Is this a new policy?

We've bought coats in both the US and Canada this season and they all came in the normal black bag, and the same in the Rue Cambon store earlier in the year, so really confused about what they said.

TIA for any help!
