Chanel CF medium vs Chanel CF jumbo

Which one looks better on me?

  • CF medium (1st photo)

  • CF jumbo (2nd photo)

    Votes: 12 23.5%

Hi! I went to a second hand shop and tried thr Chanel CF medium and Jumbo. Which looks better on me? Which should i buy?

I can’t make a decision because the medium size seems can’t fit much. I am also close to 50 and I expect to gain more weight and the medium may become too small for me. The jumbo’s chain may appear a bit too long but I can use a chain shortener for this, therefore I think it won’t be a problem. I can only afford one chanel CF in my lifetime so please help me decide.

Mini Jodie white patent

Hi all! I just got a replacement mini Jodie as there was a defect with my first one and the shape of this one looks really off to me! Does any else have a patent mini Jodie and does theirs crease like this? And the handle looks strange as well. This new out of the box as I just got this replacement. My other Jodie the shape didn’t not look like this it was smooth and flat so I’m not sure if I’m being overly picky or this looks weird AF. Thank you

SCAM ALERT - Klueles.com/Kurated

I am so determined to expose this company that is still operating two years later and is a complete and utter scam. They have continuously tried to censor me, and delete any negative comments about them. I tried to post this exact same review on Trustpilot, and two seconds later they flagged it as containing "hate speech." It's quite embarrassing the lengths this company goes to censor honest reviews and operate under the false pretense of being a legitimate, 5-star company. Seriously, read all the "positive reviews" on Trustpilot. Not a single negative one - I wonder why? I am praying this doesn't get deleted and it reaches its intended audience.

Long story short: If you are thinking of purchasing from Barcelona-based luxury reseller Klueles.com - DO NOT! This company is a fraud and the owners are scammers!

I purchased a bag from Klueles in the summer of 2021, and paid with PayPal because I had never heard of this company before and there were no reviews *at the time*. They claimed they authenticated all their products using Entrupy, but I never received an Entrupy certificate because they claimed they were having "difficulties generating one." The only way to communicate with them was over Instagram DMs - they do not respond to your emails, and I had to be the one to proactively reach out to them. No receipt for when my item shipped, no updates, whatsoever. At this point, I suspected I had been scammed, and when I received my product one month later (they claimed shipping would take a week) - I knew it was fake right off the bat. First of all, the authenticity card they included was for a completely different bag, the dust bag was off, and the bag I received was different from the one in the pictures! I immediately contacted PayPal and was granted a full refund immediately, and they told me that Klueles has a history of fraud. Since my awful experience with this company, you are now no longer able to pay with PayPal, and they deactivated commenting on their Instagram posts because so many people were commenting about their fake products.

Also - they claim they ship their products using DHL and all customs and duties are prepaid. This is another lie - I received my product via TNT (never even heard of that company before) and had to pay a broker fee. They also never covered the duties and taxes - they claimed the item value as under $25 to bypass customs, which is just like, super illegal.

DO NOT SHOP HERE - you've been warned. A while back I read a post on PurseForum regarding a Chanel bag someone had purchased off Klueles, and she had the exact same experience I did. Unfortunately the post is no longer available, probably because the owner got it deleted, because she knows these reviews are right in exposing that Klueles probably buys bags off of DHGate and then resells it to customers at full price.

Jewellery vs Net worth

What is an adequate % of NW to be kept in jewellery?

  • Less than 3%

I’m contemplating on purchasing a bracelet that would cost about 1% of our entire net worth. It seems like a totally crazy idea, because it also could be a downpayment for an inexpensive investment property. What do you tell yourself in a situation like this? Would it be too much money spent on a jewellery item or would you consider it normal?

Louis Vuitton Fortune Cookie Bag

Hello!! I am wondering if anyone has any information on the Men's Fortune Cookie Bag - M82025
I know I am late to the party on this, but I am wondering what my chances are on getting one now. I dont see any stock anywhere in North American stores currently. I am in Canada for reference.
I have been stalking the website but so far it has never popped up as 'place in cart.'
Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

Which Watch Should I Get?

I have one pastel pink G Shock, and a few metal Seiko essentials watches. I've always wanted to add another G-Shock watch to get the boyfriend/statement watch look without it being too heavy or large. I'm considering between these two watches. Should I get the rose gold, the gold, or both?

Please help me choose!! 23p Mini vs Backpack

Which one would you pick?

  • Dark beige backpack in medium

    Votes: 22 46.8%
  • Ecru Mini with top handle

    Votes: 25 53.2%

I just ordered a mini with top handle in ecru from 23p, but got offered a dark beige backpack from 23p. If these two were offered to you, what would you pick and why? I love the ecru color, but worried about wear and tear, especially since it's in lambskin. The caviar and darker color will definitely make it easy to maintain, but I’ve never had a backpack, so not sure how I would be able to utilize it. Mini top handle and backpack both have been on my Wishlist, so it is very difficult for me to pick! Unfortunately, not in a situation to get both. To provide a bit more background, my current collection includes black caviar WOC, black caviar M C/F, white caviar S C/F, and small navy lambskin 19. Any insight would be much appreciated!

Best place to buy my Saint Laurent bag?

I dont have a Saint Laurent store close to me so I am planning to buy online. I purchased my first ever Saint Laurent purse directly from their website. Should I just do that again? Ive also heard about sites like FarFetch and FashionPhile. Are those only used or do they sell new? Im not sure how those sites work. Are they the same price as the Saint Laurent site? I am located in Canada.

Thanks!

Should I buy from the RealReal?

I’ve been looking for a specific small flap in a particular color and leather for months. Its finally available on the RealReal. With all of the issues around their authentication, should I give it a shot anyways? Im planing to get the bag authenticated again by Zeko authentication. Is it even worth the hassle or I should forget it? Please give me your opinion. Thanksssssssss

Gucci newbie and my first bag!

Originally I wanted an Hermes TPM Evelyne, should’ve bought one years ago! Now they are priced out of my range and don’t get me started on the availability issues! So I’m over that now. Then I contemplated an LV mini sac plat. They too are more than I would like to spend. And then I discovered this little cutie and all bets were off! I love this little bag. Fits all that I need, looks great hand held and worn crossbody. I’m so happy with it. It will be coming to Italy with me in June. Can someone help me understand tanneries and their leathers?

Apologies up front. This is laboriously long and possibly pointless. Read on at your peril.

******
I am always impressed at the wealth of knowledge here at tPF. I do not understand the tannery situation, but some of you certainly do.

Sometimes, I hear that this label or that uses the same tannery as Hermes, or such-and-such uses Hermes or Loewe rejects and whatnot. How would one know? Or rather, what do we know as a collective?

A few years ago, I went into Tandy Leather to buy something for my daughter, and they had large pieces of leather for sale (shoulders, I think). It was delicious, so I bought a piece. I still haven't sewn it into anything, but I will. The cashier (who had no idea that I collect LV) told me it was overstock from Louis Vuitton. I wondered if that was true.

Last summer, I was in a different city buying something else for the same daughter at Tandy, and struck up a conversation with the 2 guys working the front. I mentioned to them my beautiful leather piece and asked if it was true that Tandy got LV leftovers, and they confirmed that it did happen on occasion. Then they said other nonsense that was straight up incorrect about LV bags and leathers, so I scratched my head and departed confused.

So, what the heck is going on here? I have read (here and elsewhere) that Maison Takuya, Loewe, and Moynat use Hermes' tannery. Does that mean they are all using the same leathers? I have, or have had, or will have soon, something from all of these houses, but the leathers are very different. I obviously cannot compare a Hermes Bastia with a Moynat Pauline. Entirely different leathers for different applications.

And what of my beloved Tod's T-ring bucket bag? It's nothing like every other Tod's I've ever had. That leather is absolutely scrumptious.

Where is my question here?

Heck, even I'm lost in this jumble.

Jump in if you'd like. I'm just trying to understand tanneries and their leathers. Maybe it doesn't matter at all. Maybe it's the next step in understanding luxury bags. What should I know, friends?

Fun and Colorful Collection (Fendi, Gucci, etc.)

Put together this little collage of my bags, and thought I’d share it here! I organized them roughly in the order that I bought them - with the first bag being the Gucci Marmont I bought in 2018, to the pink baguette I got last week. Let me know if you have any questions or want to see real pics of anything!

Shoulder bags vs. crossbodies: least pickpocket-y bags

Hi everyone! Apologies if there is already a thread on this, because I feel like I can't be the only one wondering this--I searched and didn't see one.

I'm planning some international trips for this spring and summer, and since it's been a hot minute since I left the country (nearly 6 years!!), I've been trying to refresh myself on basic travel tips. Of course, being a purse fiend, at the top of my mind is what bag to carry for my adventures.

Pretty much every time I've gone abroad, I've carried a Longchamp Le Pliage like the one shown below. In addition to being durable, versatile, and not too flashy, with a decent capacity for everything you'll need in a day of sightseeing, I also feel like it's very secure in touristy areas because 1) it zips, 2) it's got the top flap that can be fastened too, and 3) it tucks right up under your shoulder. It's this last point I want to talk about, because for me, this feels like the most secure type of bag--you've got your arm holding it close to your body, blocking people's ability to get into it, and with the Le Pliage in particular, you can keep the closed end of the zipper towards the front so you can keep an eye on it. I usually carry mine like it's shown in the picture, with the zipper fully zipped:

longchamp.png

However, it seems like in general, crossbodies are recommended in touristy places because they are harder to snatch off your body, plus you can wear them while sitting at a café or other places instead of having to take them off. This is definitely an advantage, but when I think about wearing a crossbody, it seems like unless you've got your hand covering the zipper a lot of the time, it would be easy for someone to just pop their hand in and grab things when you're taking a photo or are otherwise occupied. Also, if it's a bag with a leather strap and someone slashes it, it seems like it would fall right off unless you've got your hand on it, whereas with a shoulder bag that fits right up under your arm, they can cut the strap but your arm would still be holding the bag close to you.

Is there anyone else out there who's like me and prefers shoulder bags to crossbodies when traveling in pickpocket-prone areas? Or are there other advantages of crossbodies for traveling (besides the fact that they're generally smaller and more convenient for other reasons) that I'm missing? This is assuming, of course, that any bag we're talking about would have a zipper, although I also kind of wonder if flap bags can work too.

Disclaimer: this is is not to say one style or the other is wrong--I'm just curious about others' preferences and why it works for you! Honestly, even though I'm getting kind of bored of Le Pliages, I'll probably end up carrying one most if not all the time anyway because I know it works for me lol.
