Just my one cent…

Ok, so, don’t hate me, but I was walking through the Bal store in Boston, and was very underwhelmed with the bags (the SA was lovely).
I saw one city-ish bag with multiple sizes of giant hardware, like all doubled up. Not my style. And the moto stuff was also very tame. I’m sorry to say this season, and some of last, is not for me. But please, someone talk me into the beauty of it!

Toiletry Pouch on Chain - Saw in the Wild = Love!

Hello!

My hubby and I went on a short 24 hour mini getaway this weekend. Sat at the hotel bar after dinner for only 30 min and saw 3-4 LV's pass us by. Then a couple sat down next to us at the bar and the woman had this beautiful LV Toiletry Pouch on Chain, along with another longer, mono strap attached. It was stunning! The bag looked so sleek and classy, the gold chain was glistening in the lights, and she had the beautiful longer strap attached. If you are here - I saw you and loved your bag!!

As an aside, I never thought I would be interested in the toiletry pouch on chain... I was in the camp "Still looks like a toiletry pouch!" But after seeing it in person, and then watching a few YT video reviews, I've learned it's not actually a toiletry pouch anymore, but a full bag that happens to come with a mini 15" toiletry pouch included. I wish they had changed the name to reflect the redesign of the new bag. Now I'm debating if I want this bag as my every day bag or if I'm still in the "it looks like a toiletry pouch" camp. Because now I'm having serious doubts!

Anyone here own this bag and can share pics? I've searched this forum but there isn't a ton of posts on owning one. TIA!

Loewe puzzle repairs

I recently purchased a preloved small Loewe puzzle which needs some work. I was planning to get the edging redone in many places and the leather that holds the top handle to the bag repaired. I don't know how long redone redoing will last but I got quotes from 3 places. Does anyone have experience with any of them? It seems they mostly specialize in LV and Chanel so I'd love to know of any Loewe specific experiences.

Customized St Louis PM Resell Question

This is a bit of a weird question and I know you're all knowledgeable and could possibly help. I purchased a customized St Louis PM bag for someone who I am no longer seeing. She wanted it to say "Jet Set". It took about three months to arrive and by then we were no longer speaking. As a guy, I'm not personally going to use it nor do I have anyone who wants it, mainly because of the customization. Frankly it's just sitting here and I was curious how I can get it off my hands quickly and with as little hassle as possible. I have no problem taking a loss on the cost or giving it away practically for free. Thanks in advance.

Fashion Week 2023: Everything, Everywhere, All at Once

Bottega Veneta’s Everything, Everywhere Essence Strikes Fashion Gold
Matthieu Blazy’s collection was a joyous and ingenious celebration of pure craft, writes Tim Blanks.

MILAN — “Everything Everywhere All at Once” is winning all the movie prizes on its way to Oscar gold. On Saturday night, it felt like Matthieu Blazy tapped into the same propulsive, polymorphous momentum with his sensational show for Bottega Veneta. Post-presentation, he talked about “the alchemy of the street,” the magic that happens when the world hits the sidewalk. Who knows what you’ll see, who you might meet?

“I was very interested in Carnival, where everyone walks in the same direction, we don’t know where they go but they go together,” Blazy marvelled.

This urgent message of togetherness, a deliberately uplifting riposte to the news that surrounds us, was borne along on surging sounds of celebration: samba, the sound of Carnival, African beats, an American marching band. Underscoring the momentum, the audience was joined in one room by the famous runners of Pompeii, two bronze statues on loan from the museum in Naples. In the other room, another museum loan, the sculpture by Italian Futurist Umberto Boccioni, which is one of Blazy’s profound inspirations, with its abstract rendition of a muscular body in motion. They provided a true “Everything, Everywhere…” moment of discombobulation. Who knows who you might meet at a BV show?

Blazy claimed he’d decided not to edit the collection. Instead, he kept adding characters, including some from his first two outings for BV. There were all sorts, every generation — a vamp, a gigolo, a gangster, a businessman, Delphic oracles, power dressers, poetesses, a couple who’d just got out of bed (their bedsocks knitted leather), even some mermaids (a personal obsession of Blazy’s), scaly torsos emerging from watery cascades of shimmering fringe, because creatures of myth should not be denied their place in the industry of human happiness.

“There is nothing more beautiful than kids when they feel empowered, when they wear a costume, and we wanted to bring this kind of feeling,” Blazy explained. “The idea you can be whatever you want to be.”

It was almost as though he was suggesting fashion as a kind of transformative superpower. That is actually an idea which is at the core of Blazy’s creativity. His instinctive appreciation of the craft of making clothes has found the perfect outlet in Bottega Veneta’s workshops. The very first look he showed for BV a year ago — a white cotton tank, a pair of blue jeans — hardly looked like a bold new direction, until the penny dropped that the entire outfit was nubuck leather. Blazy closed his show in Saturday with the same look, like he was closing a chapter. (Even though he did mutter, “Maybe it starts again.”)

But that gesture, coming at the end of a cavalcade of extraordinary variety, was also a reminder of how far he’s come in twelve months. There were more of those trompe l’oeil leather pieces, the skins even lighter this time. A coat that looked re-embroidered was actually woven in one piece (a technique which took the whole year to master). One young man was sensibly dressed in a shirt, tie and pants, all of them knitted. Here was the key: the effort was subtle, not showy. “We try as much as we can to integrate the technique within the fabric itself,” said Blazy.

Which isn’t to say that there weren’t showy pieces here. Since his days at Margiela, Blazy has always grasped the pulse of desire that ignites fashion. An intreciatto thigh boot on Julia Nobis or Emma Balfour, for instance. There were glories here: the draped dress in a shade of Art Deco eau de nil, clasped at the thigh with a ceramic buckle; the grey tweed coat collapsing into a torrent of loose threads; boudoir-ish looks trimmed in…I want to say passementerie but that is probably much too banal for the BV magician and his apprentices. But there was also tailoring and knitwear and dressing-up dresses and a proper sense of all-day garde-robe for men and women. In other words, a commercial astuteness which suggest Blazy’s creative alchemy is quite capable of chasing gold for King Kering.

HELP! How do I clean this new fossil bag that have never been used?

Can anyone advise what are the dark spots on this bag ? This is new and haven't been used before. I store it in my cupboard for at least 3yrs before I remembers it and took it out. And in my horror, the bag was covered in dark spots.

I am quite disappointed in fossil's quality recently, another bag which have never been used before, started cracking and peeling for the sling, the main body remained fine, however the patches that connect the sling and parts where it is not obvious were made up of lousy leather which peeled and crack off. I thought fossil is supposed to make up of real leather fully ? I am afraid that this might happen to this bag too.

Any advise to clean and remove the dark spots are appreciated.

Thanks.

My sweet “sweet” piece for my birthday

I’ve been eyeing on a VCA piece for so long! Like, over 5 years! I’m someone who has to do their research and there’s no stores near me so I’ve had to stalk the VCA forum for the longest time. Finally ordered my very first piece as a birthday present for myself.

(Miley Cyrus did say we could buy our own flowers, right? And in my case I bought my own clover lol)

I knew for my first piece I would want all solid gold. As beautiful as the stone pieces are, I know I just wouldn’t take my jewelries on and off as I should; even if it was a hardier stone like Onyx or Carnelian. I was eyeing on the hammered gold. Debated between the sweet and vintage. I’m 5’1, petite frame. Decided to order the sweet size in the end. And honestly, when I first unboxed the piece I thought, “wow this is a lot smaller than I thought, maybe I should’ve gotten the vintage.” But after wearing this piece for awhile I’m happy that I stuck with the sweet. I thought the sweet give off more of a feminine vibe (on me since I’m so small).

In the future though, I would love to add a Vintage Pendant in maybe MOP, Grey MOP, or Tiger Eye so I could stack them together. If you have the sweet stacked with a vintage, please post pics, would loveee to see the combo on you! :)

Lady Dior - vintage vs new

I searched for this question. It seems nobody has started this thread yet. Apologies if I only overlooked.

The other day I went to Christian Dior shop and tried the Lady Dior in medium size, lambskin shw. It made my heart sing

My question is what are the differences between new lady dior and vintage ones. It seems that I can save a lot buying vintage but I havent seen vintage in real life.

Perhaps anyone can share the difference between a new one and vintage? TIA!

Help! How to repair Chanel Coco Handle

After a long wait I finally got my hands on the new coco handle from 23p and I was beyond ecstatic! However, in my unboxing I noticed that there’s a slight defect on the handle where a piece of the leather seems to have already been rubbed off…I contacted my SA and she mentioned that this is not repairable and I can only return (or exchange if they can find another one, which is still unsure). While I’m waiting for that final verdict, thought I’ll post in the forum and see if there are any ways to repair/minimize the appearance of this defect. It’s pretty small, as you can see in the picture, but now I can’t really unsee it so it bothers me slightly.

Any help and recommendation is greatly appreciated!!

What does the H lover say about the Chanel classic flap?

I fell hard for Hermes and have a nice little collection going. I have never owned a Chanel bag and went straight from LV to the slippery H slope. I’ve been considering a flap bag on and off over the last 5 years or so since it’s a classic, but never took the plunge. (Would have saved a lot of $$ had I done so  ). The price is only going to keep going up so I’m considering getting one now. For those who have a classic flap bag amongst a sea of Hermes, do you find you still love it and use it often? I’d get the medium size in black. Thanks all! :flowers:

Anyone have or want the Foulard?

I love the shape of this but I'm worried the handle would be uncomfortable to actually wear on the shoulder. They do show the model carrying it in her hands, but it's listed as a shoulder bag. Realistically, it would be a hassle to carry something this large in my hands for too long and I would want to hang it on my shoulder or at least my forearm.

What are you lovely folks thinking? I'm thinking maybe it could make sense during the winter when you'd have a coat on anyway, so that your shoulder or forearm would have sleeves to protect them from that bar. Or is it more comfortable than it looks?

Help! How do I get rid of blood without hurting my espadrilles?

Sorry for the bloody, raw photo… but could anyone suggest a safe way to get rid of the blood stain on my new espadrilles?

It’s a new pair and I wore it while wearing stockings. The liquid stain around was the little amount of water applied while removing my foot. :frown:

I guess I shouldn’t be wearing new shoes when excessive amount of walking was expected… :hrmm:

Thank you all in advance!

Edit to add:
I don’t have any kind of product for this pair yet. Only a kit I bought a long time ago for my UGG boots (for suede).

Feedback on bicolor empreinte wear

Hello ladies and gentlemen!
I'm looking for some feedback on the wear and tear of the empreinte leather in the black/cream version. I've heard a few people say that the cream part cracked on them. I haven't seen many people post positive experiences with their purchase. I don't usually go for such a loud print, but I've stalked it since it came out. So I'm thinking of making the purchase but wasn't sure of the quality with this print.
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
