Online order in France

I wanted to check if anyone has placed an online order with store pick up from US to Paris store ahead of their appointment. As I would like to order sneakers ahead of my appointment at Paris as per SA they cannot guarantee that it will be in stock when I go there a week from now. Please share your experience if you have done this, also how would VAT refund work.

3 month delivery time for PA

I ordered a mono pochette Accessoires on 31st May. It stated there was a 3 month delivery time for this item. My order is still pending validation and there seems to be no update at all. Just wondering if others have really had to wait that long for something? The odd thing is that I could order a personalised My Heritage PA and the wait time is only 8 weeks for that so they clearly have them available to order and personalise in less time than the regular one!?

Second 5 motif

Hi everyone! I’m considering getting a second 5 motif bracelet but am feeling a bit torn on what would be a better second piece.

I have the yellow gold MOP 5 motif which I love. Should I get the carnelian/RG version that was recently relaunched or the malachite? I’m assuming Id find the perfect shade of red. Also on the fence about the piece being RG since I typically favor YG. I tried on a carnelian piece that was in stock and it just looked muddy brown on my tan arm. I think I’d get more wear out of the malachite & I’m not as concerned about the stone being soft as I’m careful about my jewelry.

The attached picture is how my arm looks now. I don’t plan on stacking with my Cartier pieces.

Would appreciate your thoughts on this!

LV Chaps ripped

Has anyone had their Alma PM chaps ripped by carrying it with a strap crossbody? I bought one 1990s era from Japan and the first time I used it with a strap, the chaps ripped. Not sure if this has happened to anyone? Although the leather is very light, it seemed a little dry to begin with. Ik
Thinking of either having it fixed or selling it cheap and buying a different one. I love the bag style but I really need something I can use crossbody when I need to. Thank you for any input :)

Dior Book Tote - Thoughts on Size?

I’ve been thinking about the Book Tote for some time - taking it on/off the wishlist (waiting to find a print I fell in love with). I’m at the point where I’ve found 2 prints I can’t stop thinking about but I’m torn between the Medium and Large size. For any book tote owners or admirers out there, which is your preferred size? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this (no right or wrong answer…just trying to weigh my options ).

Anyone used Trends Luxe?

Has anyone on here bought from Trends Luxe . com? They are based in Europe, I believe I read in Spain but I can’t find it so I’m not sure.

The website looks serious but I can’t find any reviews outside of the quotes on their own website, it was founded in 2019 so perhaps that is why. But their prices are surprisingly low for bags in new/excellent condition, which is why I’m a little cautious. They have an Instagram that hasn’t been updated since November last year which also makes me unsure about them.

If you have any experience with the website or your alarm bells are ringing off I would appreciate it greatly if you could reply to this thread.

Cartier Watch Repair Dilemma

I am rarely in this forum, but I thought I should pop over to ask a question about two watches I'm having serviced. I am just curious if anyone has had a watch repaired at their boutique, and, if so, how long did it take? I ask because I sent my watches to my local boutique to be repaired nearly two months ago, yet I was quoted two to three weeks as the time it would take to finish the repairs. I have already messaged my S.A. and repair specialist several times to enquire about the progress of the repairs to little avail, so I would just like to hear about other people's watch repair experiences. Is this normal?

Chloe Woody Tote Medium vs Large

I have been looking for a new hand bag. I do not want anything too big where it just swallow all my items but nothing too small either. I need it big enough to fit my work laptop which is 13.5", the charger, a notebook, my wallet, keys, phone and a calculator.

I have bee looking at the Chloe Woody Bag (canvas) in either the medium or large size. I am afraid the medium is too small and the large may be too big? I am stuck deicing between the two sizes, any thoughts?

Query: History of Hermès Hardware

Friend and I were having a discussion of Hermès hardware options. The topic of Gold versus Palladium came up, and specifically whether or not Gold was once the only option. It does seem that all the vintage bags have gold hardware. Was that once the only hardware available? If so, then when did Palladium become available, along with all the other options? Any Hermès historians out there?

Rolex Watch Service Without Papers

I was wondering if I am able to get a Rolex watch (Oyster) serviced if I do not have the box or the paperwork? It was my grandmothers watch which was passed down to me when she passed away. She purchased it about 20-25 years ago overseas in Asia and have since lost the paperwork and box. I want to get it serviced (she never got it serviced) so I can start wearing it. Would Rolex also add more links/chains if the watch is too small? I know I would have to pay extra but I do not have the pieces and one that watch alone.

Le Châle Bleu - appreciation thread

Making a little space for those of us who are loving the beautiful pieces created by this independent French scarf designer!

For context, from her site:
All of the designs from Le Châle Bleu {The Blue Shawl} are hand drawn by the brand’s creator Ania Axenova in her small studio in the South of France. She is a passionate and dedicated subscriber of a form of fashion that is slower, more wholesome, and full of life and meaning. Behind each of her creations is a poetic tale imagined at the same time as the design.

Seasonal color availability for CFs - how hard are they to come by?

I hope that this hasn't been discussed - I've tried to search, so please bear with me if I'm repeating a question!

Essentially, I'm wondering how hard different colored classic flaps are to come by. I feel like I have read very mixed things across different platforms about inventory and availability these days, even for black classic flaps. If I'm hoping for a seasonal color (I love the periwinkle blue that is, I believe, from 23A), would it be a mistake to pass it up if I've found one? I'd rather wait and buy when I'm in Europe in October since it will be cheaper, or even wait until August/September and buy here in the US so that I can give a bit more space between some big purchases. But I don't want to let this one slip through my fingers if my SA has one available now, and if it's hard to come by!

All that said, what can I generally expect when it comes to availability for seasonal colored classic flaps, whether it's this color, or future colors? Thank you all for your knowledge - I truly appreciate all the TPFers who are more experienced in these subjects than myself!

Do these Chanel slides look like pool shoes?

Do you thinks these look too much like pool shoes?

I have been looking for a plain black pair of classic everyday Chanel slides. I have tried a few styles this summer and not quite finding the right one. I love the leather quilting on these with the textured gold metal CC but wonder if they are TOO casual? The bottom are a dense black foam material.

Opinions on Trinity bracelet vs Etincelle bracelet please

Hi all, I'm pretty new to Cartier and I'd like some thoughts on the Trinity bracelet (small model - not the one with a cord) and the Etincelle de Cartier bracelet (single row). It seems like there aren't lots of reviews on these two bracelets compared with the LOVE and JUC and so I'd be grateful if owners of these two bracelets can share their thoughts on the pros and cons of these two bracelets. E.g. whether the Trinity bracelet makes too much of a cling clang when moving around, whether the Etincelle gets "lost" when worn alone or is too "in your face" to wear at work etc. I do like the idea of having virtually 3 bracelets in one Trinity but I'd also like to add a bit of bling to my collection. I understand that ultimately it's personal preference and I'll for sure try them on in a boutique but not so confident I could make a decision when trying them on. Hoping to eventually get both one day but need some advice on which one to get first.

A bit of background: I normally wear daintier jewellery - VCA single motif bracelets, necklace with a small solitaire, a thin silver bangle etc. and I am open to stacking but 2 is the most I've done so far. I want to wear the bracelet every day (maybe except sleeping!).

Thank you so much! Appreciate any thoughts on this and happy to get recommendations on other bracelets too. :amuse:

P.S. Would be happy to hear about the LOVE bracelets (both regular and small, with or without diamonds) as I love the idea of the bracelet but kind of having second thoughts due to the saturation of LOVE bracelets lately... Thanks!

LV does NOT stand by their product. Terrible quality and even worse customer service

For a brand that loves to talk about their heritage and quality… it’s totally a SCAM. We all know the Palm Springs mini backpack was redesigned to fix all the defects of the original model (zipper catching onto the canvas piece the covered the zipper, fraying leather loops and tabs), straps fraying etc.

I brought my old model into the boutique for a replacement because of it’s known issues (my bag also had the same exact issues) but when I went they not only acknowledged that they were replacing the defective bags before but they told me they have stopped that and bc of when the bag was purchased any repairs would be at my cost.

I barely used the bag while I owned it bc I simply couldn’t get in and out of the bag without the zipper catching onto the canvas.

They can talk about their 5 year policy all they want but since when did the 5 year policy override the simple FACT that the bag they sold to everyone is defective? After 5 years is the bag not defective anymore?

These aren’t claims that the bag is defective… it’s widely known and LV themselves redesigned the whole bag to fix THEIR design mistake.

The main point here is… you sold me a defective bag… after 5 years it makes it ok now? Now you want to push a “repair” on it instead of replacing the bag like you have for others? The audacity or them to charge clients for “repairs” on a defective item? Sounds like the accountability stops after 5 years lol. This is not normal wear and tear here… this bag never functioned how it’s supposed to hence the redesign.

Just a warning to everyone… don’t expect LV to stand by their brand and quality (lack of quality). They will tell you to keep a defective bag and tans behind policies that don’t make sense. Some people may love the old model but it’s safe to say most don’t and neither does LV since they redesigned it.
