Is this mold and how to clean?

IMG_6868.jpeg
Hello, I got this vintage bag and was hoping to restore it. It's part canvas and part leather. If the spots are mold, would this bag be safe to use after cleaning? How should I go about cleaning it and what products should I use? I'm also worried about getting the bag too wet while cleaning and cause it to lose shape. For the leather parts I was going to clean with saddle soap, air dry (possibly under the sun) then recondition and apply a coat of protector all over.

Outside: I'm not sure what the stain marks are but I'm thinking it's possibly mold or oil. Some parts of the canvas look slightly darker so I'm hoping after cleaning it would look bright and more even again. Is there a solution/DIY cleaner I can use to brighten?

Inside: inside is part leather and fabric. The white stuff looks like mold to me but the pockets are fairly flat so not sure how to best get into this to throughly clean. Any suggestions?

Smell: There's a strong smell coming from the bag but I'm planning to store a charcoal bag or baking soda in it for a while after cleaning to see if that helps but I welcome other suggestions also.

Thanks for reading and looking forward to hear your suggestions!

Coach Outlet Final Sale - Shoe Size Misrepresented

I purchased a pair of men’s signature slippers from the Coach Outlet Online. I wear a shoe size 11 in sneakers, but I often size down for things like winter boots, slippers, etc. that say they “run large,” and generally never have an issue with the fit. Well these slippers said “run large,” so I purchased a size 10, thinking if there were an issue I could just return them. Turns out they’re way too small and final sale, which means no return OR exchange. I didn’t realize Coach sold anything final sale, especially not fall items at the end of summer when I bought them. So I can’t initiate a return online.

So my question is, are they really final sale?! Like, I can’t them to my local Coach Outlet store and get store credit, or exchange in the system if they have them in size 11? It just seems ridiculous to have to blind buy sized items and not be able to return or exchange them. It’s not a bag. I never would have purchased a shoe if I had realized I couldn’t return them. But I’ve never had an issue with their customer service like this before.

Once again, they seem WAY to small to be a men’s 10. They don’t fit me AT ALL. I feel like their sizing chart is misleading. Will an SA or manager understand this if I take the time to drive many miles to my nearest Outlet? It’s a bit of a drive for me since it seems they intentionally locate their outlets away from city centers, and I don’t want to waste my time.

Guitar straps, love them or hate them ?

Hey everyone how do you all feel about handbags with the fabric guitar straps.?

used to hate them but they are growing on me. It gives the bag special younger style. I’m loving for example the LV new wave with that strap better than the double chain one.
it’s a really cool idea that you ca take of that strap and maybe use the bag as a shoulder bag.

I’m loving that concept everyday more. As I said used to hate because I thought it made the bag less versatile but I’ve realized if t comes with a little chain too or it’s the mult pochette. You can use it either as a clutch then.

when a bag comes with that strap it means it also comes with other options to use it. so I’m digging this trend.

Jacquemus disgruntlement

I bought the very popular Jacquemus La Pochette rond carré last week in the latest release online, it arrived yesterday and I was disappointed and annoyed to find some sort of glue marking at the bottom of the bag
I emailed them to ask what options, they offered me a refund and I replied that I would prefer the marking to be correctly removed. (Mind you i've tried with wipes and the glue spreads).
Considering it's sold out I replied and asked for them for an alternative offer and they replied today basically saying take the refund or keep the bag we won't resolve.
I'm really annoyed at the customer service that they have not taken any steps to help and want to return the bag (even though it's sold out I'm conflicted as I really like the bag)
Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with Jacquemus?

Stacking two different sizes of love ring

I have a rose gold love wedding band in size 55 and I stack it on my index finger with an eternity band in size 6.5 (which would be 53.5 in Cartier sizing).

I have found a good deal on a pre-loved yellow gold love wedding band in size 54. Would it be OK to buy it to stack with a size 55 ring?

Also wondering if I actually like the look, does anyone have any pictures of yellow and rose gold love wedding bands stacked?

Hi all,

So I fell in love with the lv Sirius it fits all of my criteria for a travel bag. However one thing it falls short on is I’m not a big fan of monogram. One option I had was to paint the entire bag. What do you guys think? Have you seen an lv bag painted? (that doesn’t look tacky no offense). Or is this just a bad idea?

I’ve seen the Sirius in epi but those are hard to come by especially in a size I want.
Would to hear your opinions or ideas. Thanks!

Can’t decide: K25 Barenia, yes or no?

Hello lovely ladies,

I please need help deciding. I’ve been offered a K25 Barenia PHW by my amazing SA and I don’t know what to do.

I absolutely love barenia, I had discussed about it with my SA in the past, and I thought this was impossible to get, so I was keeping it as my « dream bag ». Now that one has landed at my local boutique and she has offered it to me, I hesitate because of:
1) the price tag, which will potentially refrain me from using the bag very often (being worried about theft, as I use public transport a lot)
2) the style; sellier is a dream but I’m always wearing sneakers and have a very casual style. Would this match my wardrobe or look odd?
3) the practicality of the bag itself. I have a K28 gris Étain togo, that I have used less than 5 times in 2 years. I find it bulky and not comfortable at all. Would 25 sellier be a better fit?

For reference, I’m petite - 1,60 m tall. Oh gosh… I don’t want to regret it, would like to be able to make a decision and make it for good. Sometimes I think “go get it and run away”, but the next second I feel anxious, due to the fact that it’s a lot of money that could serve other purposes in life (e.g. traveling with my family or just be more relaxed with no remorses in mind). What would you do? Thanks in advanced!

Edit: To give you some more details about what type of bags I use the most - I always go for my mini Lindy, and I have other bags (C18 box, B25, B30) but I hardly ever wear them. Wondering if a K25 would become the rotation bag I need for alternating with my Mini Lindy? Or should I look at other styles and forget about a Kelly?

Builder gel for dry, brittle nails? Or some other products?

My nails just aren't what they used to be. They are getting dry and thin and ridged. I know that collagen and cuticle oil can help but I'm looking for an immediate improvement. I've heard that using a builder gel can be a good way to go. I have an extensive nail polish collection so if I could still use them on top of something I'd be really happy.

Do you use builder gel and/or other products? Can you recommend products that I can use, or is this something I need to get done at a salon? I'd like to minimize cost if possible.

Sotheby's Auction Help (Time Sensitive) Please :)

I'm considering purchasing a bag from Sotheby's online (the auction is out of the Paris branch, closing tomorrow) and have never done any buying with Sotheby's before... has anyone purchased and can help me figure out what the total cost will be?

I'm reading their T&C in detail and it seems that on top of the "hammer price", I have to pay a 1% "overhead fee" plus a whopping 26% "buyer's premium", plus VAT. So the bag I'm looking at is €7k... let's pretend that's the winning bid... so if I'm doing this correctly, I'm looking at 7000 * 1.01 (1% overhead) * 1.26 (26% buyers premium) and that comes to €8908 without VAT. I have no experience with VAT and my googling isn't giving me a clear answer (neither are Sotheby's help pages, plus have read a lot on these forums too but I remain confused) so from what I read, it's somewhere in the 20% range or even more? So pretending it's 20% VAT, then I again multiply by 1.2 and I'm coming out to €10,689... basically over a 1.5x upcharge on the price. Is this right?

Please let me me know if I'm doing this right/wrong because I'm wanting to make sure I don't get myself into a financial pickle! Here I was thinking "ooh, €7k would be a good price" but I'm glad I'm researching in advance, I think it might be out of my budget!

Rose gold necklace help. Cartier, Bulgari or ?

Hi guys!
I would love your opinion of my choices for an everyday RG necklace. I am working on building the perfect everyday wearable jewelry wardrobe .
I am looking for something with a nice design element to it. Strong enough to stand alone and be layered.
I do not want a statement piece. I want it to work cohesively with my other pieces.
My style is feminine with an edge. I love clean sculpture designs. I have enough VCA Alhambra and want something new and fresh.

Here is what is on my list. If you guys have any other ideas, please post. I hope this can also help anyone else looking for what I am as well.

1. Cartier clash necklace. ( hubby hates this, but who cares, lol.)
2. Bulgari B zero pave pendant. Looks cool with the clasp dangling in front.
3. Cartier pave Juc . Can wear full pave side or flip over to rose gold and pave tips.
4. Cartier Panthere. Love it, but does it get lost? Can you see the cat shape? Panthere bracelet is on my list!!

My Rolex NIGHTMARE

Hi all, Hope you are well. I am in a difficult situation and any advice would be helpful and appreciated. Please be patient and take the time to read through. It's a long one, sorry!!

So this is the situation. I have been on waitlist for 31 DJ MOP in yellow rolesor since Oct last year. In Jan this year, I was offered a watch which wasn't my priority watch that I turned down (well, purchased and then returned the next day as I didn't want to compromise). Since then I have not been offered anything despite making promises to offer the watch to me in summer. I have been emailing to check every now and then.

Fast forward to Tuesday few weeks ago - after work I visited a different branch of the same AD to see if they would be willing to offer me the watch. I instantly clicked with the branch manager, turns out he is from my hometown. We had a good chat, for about an hour and he suggested that I build my relationship with his branch and terminate it with the other. He promised to find me the watch and for the first time ever I felt hopeful about getting a watch I have been waiting for a year now.

Next day I terminated my relationship with the previous branch and sent a message to the guy at the new branch saying that all was good and he can now register me to his branch. The very same day I received an email confirming my registration of interest from Rolex. Great! Few mins later he messaged me again, saying their branch is receiving a MOP watch that might interest me. Ok, my office happens to be 2 mins walk from this branch so I can stop by and view this. It was about 5.45pm when I received his message but I know he finishes work at 6pm. I was still working but I told him, that will stop by in 10-15 mins. He said he will stay back and wait for me. I do not do well with pressure so I dropped my work and headed to the branch. He was lovely and chatty as always. I viewed that watch, it was beautiful but not love, so I humbly declined but was happy to finally see MOP in person and was happy with my initial registration.

THEN he asked me if I will be at my office tomorrow, so we can go for a drink or coffee after work, ie. Friday. And that **rang alarm bells** for me and I said I am working form home tomorrow. I thought let me not read too much into this and give him benefit of doubt. He knows I am married and he is married too, with kids. We spoke about our lives, work etc when I met him on Tuesday.

The week later he messaged me again! He initially messaged me, "hi how are you and are you in the office?". Since I was working, I did not see my messages right away and only had a chance to check my notifications an hour later. When I finally replied I told him, "I am in the office and in the area but it has been a busy day for me and i am very occupied with work". He then goes on to reply that he had the watch, the 31 DJ MOP in two tone, but now its sold out. Basically implying that I did not reply to him asap and missed my chance. So I got extremely confused and I asked him if he means that the exact same watch that I want was in stock but he has sold just now? He replied yes, it was reserved for a VIP and he has collected it now and that he just wanted to show me how it looks like. Then goes on to ask, if we can have lunch in area (since he now knew I am in the office and that he managed to get my attention because of the watch).

He did something similar couple of days back as well. Telling me via WhatsApp that he has a watch for me at 5.45pm EOD on Friday. Then when I replied that I can come tomorrow, he suggested to come the day after that because that day he won’t be working on Saturday. But on Sunday I was not going to be in the city, and I informed him I can come on Monday but later on Sunday he messaged me saying that the watch is sold out. All of this feels very abrupt, stressful and unprofessional.

It's becoming extremely uncomfortable and i feel like he would just continue to dangle the watch carrot in front of me to his advantage. Who knows, he might never actually offer me a watch because then I would cut ties with him and end my rolex journey at this AD. But I brunt bridges with the other boutique and worry if I avoid his person or not agree to meet him for a coffee or drink, he might not offer me the watch. His behavior is stressing me out and I am struggling to sleep. His behaviour, dare i say, is somewhat abusive? The watch will cost me $$$$$ of my hard earned money, but this isn't how the experience should be?

Any suggestions please?

Do you regret getting the Saddle bag?

Hey everyone
I 've been in love with the Saddle bag for the past few months but wonder if it's going to be a bag I will love for a long time. I used to not like the shape the first time I saw it and I'm not sure if it's a current love or a bag I will still be happy about in a few years. Normally I would just wait but with the prices increasing all the time I'm worried I will have to pay a lot more. To all the Saddle bag owners: Do you regret your purchse or do you still love your Saddle bag?

Micro Bags

Anyone own either of these or any micro bags? I am looking for something that can carry keys, 2 or 3 cc, and some cash. Was looking specifically for key holders but was shown these 2 as options. Plus is they can be used as I intended and also as bags. Not sure if I should stick to a proper key holder with the functionality I need.
