Hi all,

I'm excited that I am going to purchase my next cartier piece. I was going to move forward with the small panthere ring. However, I am a little back and forth as I originally wanted the panthere bangle. A loved one wanted to buy me a piece for my birthday and wanted to have some type of diamond on it for good luck (I didn't understand the reasoning but I also think diamonds are always a fabulous idea). I was set on the bangle but I think the cost and the lack of a diamond accent was prohibitive so they pushed for what I ended up with, which is the 5 diamond small love bangle. I have stacked that since with my other love bangle and various diamond bracelets.

I know eventually I will treat myself to the bangle, but for this year I was thinking of doing the panthere ring and the same loved one wants to contribute for my birthday. I thought that the ring would be a fair price point. I had issues with the 5 diamond and they actually just replaced the whole thing with a new one. I wish I had pushed for a store credit but since the bangle was bought for a sentimental birthday, I didn't want to be disrespectful.

If I go for the panthere ring, would it be odd to eventually get the bangle as well since I would probably wear mostly at the same time? Is the small one too dainty?

Any issues with the ring with current owners? Additionally, what finger would you think to buy this for? I originally thought pointer finger, I haven't been able to comfortably wear a ring on that finger though. My rings are probably my least impressive out of my daily wear. I wear a couple of simple diamond bands and a tiffany atlas ring that I wasn't able to sell. I am probably going to add a tiffany fleur de lis pave diamond ring and a pinky signet ring at some point.

I should also say that I don't change up my pieces often, I'm always in motion. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

any new updated ways to protect the surfaces of the love bangles?

Hi all,

It's been a while! I was wondering if there has been any new solutions as to how to protect the love bangles with the high level of surface area from day to day scratches or from other bangles.

Now before I get the well intended comments of "just use and enjoy the bracelet with all the scratches" I've had my first love for well over a decade, I am well versed in this. However, since then I've been fortunate to acquire more bangles and i've had increased demand on my hands and wrists and my jewelry has really accelerated in wear the last few years from this. I want to be able to pass these down one day and I would feel better if I was a little more proactive with mindful wearing. Unfortunately early on due to a clasp issue, they did one of those lifetime polishing services without my permission and I was advised to only do that twice in the lifetime of the piece since they remove gold. I used to wear the sweatbands and I reordered them. but any type of coating or covering people have been using? Akin to a ceramic coating perhaps? Any new favorite buffer bracelets?

Thanks!

JUC small ring serial number?

I own a few Cartier pieces and I bought them either from their online store or direct at the flagship store in Canada. I just bought a small JUC ring from the flagship store in Japan. I know I always should check the serial number on the pieces before buying, but I always trusted them since I’m buying directly from the store. However, now I’m back home, out of boredom, I was looking at the ring and I don’t see any engraving on it. Do they have microscopic engraving or I just got scammed?

Has anybody seen this Louis Vuitton Strap before?

Hi all. I recently purchased a vintage Louis Vuitton Jeune Fille PM from a reputable Japanese seller. The bag authentic and is in very good condition for its age (1989), but my concern is the strap. I know this is not the original strap and has obviously been replaced, but I have never seen a Louis Vuitton strap the way the buckle is stitched in place and the vachetta leather folds over to the top? Can anybody tell me if they have seen this configuration on a LV strap before? Thank you.

Anyone know if it’s safe to wear Rolex in Florence Italy?

We’re going to Florence for my 50th birthday and I’d like to be able to wear my present from my hubby which is a 36mm datejust in gold and steel with diamond numerals. It’s not a coveted model, but in the light of the increasing Rolex thefts is it still too risky to wear it in Florence? Obviously it’s a high tourist area, so I’ve done some research and there seems to be mixed opinions, although the majority say it’s safe. Just wondering if anyone here can share any knowledge.
As it’ll be hot there I’ll be wearing short sleeves so won’t be able to hide it. Should I just leave it at home? :(

Annual "Millésime" Marquage

Creating a thread dedicated to Goyard’s annual “millésime” marquage.

Each year since 2017, Goyard has offered a unique ribbon design, painted entirely by hand, and customizable with almost any combination of the Maison’s natural pigment-based colors. According to their official Instagram page, the millésime marquage is available at Goyard comptoirs worldwide, but only during the year of the design’s introduction. However, the Goyard website currently shows availability of two past millésime designs, along with the current year's offering.

Is a Palm Spring Mini worth getting today?

Palm Spring Mini in 2024 and beyond?

  • Go for it.

  • No. It’s over.

I am going back and forth and need some opinions. I had the palm spring mini in 2020, sold it, and randomly starting missing the little cutie recently. But, is it worth getting one today? I am a casual dresser, and I remember it being a handy bag. Do I let the idea of it go? Or is the craze of Palm Spring mini just over?

Hermes Kelly Black 32 Togo v Ardennes

I recently purchased an Hermes Togo Kelly retourne black 32 from 2011. I really love the bag but it is a bit slouchier than I had imagened. I am looking for a workhorse bag with durability as I have 4 young children. I recently came across an Hermes Ardennes Kelly retourne black 32 from 1999. Leather is in great shape, the hardware shows minor wear as expected for a vintage bag. It seems to have held its shape quite well. Would you make the switch from 2011 Togo to 1999 Ardennes? Which bag will hold its value more?

How do you like your Trinity earrings?

Hi, I'm considering the small Trinity earrings because of its versatility and the simple, classic design. I still need to go try them on in person but wanted to hear from those who have owned them for awhile in terms of how well they've held up, any fading issues with the different gold colors, etc.

Any input would be super helpful, thank you!

Which height should I choose for a ring?

You have ring size, width, and height. I would like to know which height I should choose for a ring. The options are:
  • 1 mm
  • 2 mm
  • 3 mm
  • 4 mm
  • 5 mm
I do not want the ring to hurt when putting it on and taking it off, but I also do not want the ring touching the other fingers too much. I have larger knuckles, so I want a ring with extremely rounded edges. However, the ring height should be big enough so that the rounded edges are comfortable enough for my big knuckles.

So, could anyone share their experience with ring height, when to choose which height in general situations, and which height to choose for myself?

Chanel Bag staining my clothes

I purchased a bag at DFS back in Spring 2021. It was the seasonal Sweet mini square in Navy Caviar. Recently, it has been staining my clothing, particularly anything made of natural fibers (cotton & linen so far).

I’m thinking I should call Chanel client services and set up an appointment, right? I’m just worried since it’s a seasonal piece they won’t do anything for me & it will just be a waste of time.

Cosmetic Cases

I know that the Dooney cosmetic cases have sold out on ILD. But, if they come back,
I want to recommend them. The cosmetic case has a much wider base than a pouch or
wristlet.... so the cosmetic case holds a lot more. I bought several prints
(Hydrangea, Plumes, Art Deco) all in coated cotton. I already had some in
pebbled leather from many years ago. And if they come back on sale....
I'll probably buy a another print or 2, because they are so useful and so
much fun to look at inside a handbag.

Balenciaga Moto Bag History - First Decade

Corey at Real Deal has given me permission to post some remnants of her wonderful Motorcycle Bag history that has been lost to us in its original form. Please realize these are screen shots, and lack the organization of the original work. She asks only that we realize that her "rules," about the seasons of release be taken very loosely. As time goes by and the original hand crafted bags continue to surface, there are many, many exceptions to any "rule." So please use these ideas only as a "general rule of thumb." :drinks:
