I keep a card in my wallet but I'm always worried that in case of emergency they can't find it. I have mild asthma but I'm deathly allergic to shellfish.

I know this is a super old thread, but was trying to hunt down ideas for "fashionable" medical alert jewelry.

I did want to say that having a medical card in your wallet is not enough; most EMT's will not go hunting through your wallet or purse before they start administering stuff. If you have a medical alert jewelry that says "see wallet card" they will, but they don't just search on the get-go. At least, that is the case around here.

I am getting my medic-alert info tattooed on my inner wrists. Same on both just in case I lose an arm.
