When flying do you put your extra handbags in checked luggage or carryon luggage?

I'll only travel with 2-3 expensive bags.
They're always in my carry-on, because, as others have mentioned, most airlines will not reimburse you if your luggage gets lost/stolen.
I also know someone who had THREE bags stolen out of her checked baggage.

If it's just extra cheapo nylon bags from Target, I put them in check ons, but if they are my LVs, they NEVER leave my sight !!

I only bring one nice bag when I travel. If I did bring an extra though, I would definitely put it in my carry on bag. You never know what's going to happen.

Checked luggage. I'm so effin' sick of huge carryons and all the space they take up and I worry I won't have room for mine. it's actually very freeing to just have my bag with me on a flight. Now then, I might change my tune if I ever had any luggage lost, but knock on wood no problems yet.
