A lot of the celebs look like they could have sprung for a tailor . . . great length on the model, stumpifying on the actress.

i also wonder, when the dress is modified for the celeb from the runway photo, do you think the designer switched the design before selling the dress? or that the celeb (or their stylist) asked for the change?
it depends. oftentimes pieces are modified from the original runway look to make it more sellable and because they tend to be made more eccentric specifically for the runway. but celebs can also specifically request that pieces be made for them in a different fabric or different cut and of course designers comply because it's all advertising for them. and of course the haute couture pieces are made to order.
