What's the Best Wear-With-Everything Bag?

I went to Neiman Marcus yesterday and bought myself a Balencia First bag in black. I love the purse, but it got me wondering, for a thousand bucks or less, what bag would you ladies recommend as the best day-to-night go-with-everything kind of bag? Did I pick the right one or should I have looked elsewhere? I should say here I like small-ish bags (hence the small First), prefer shoulder straps, and love squooshy leather.

Please help. I would hate to wear the First and then find something else that I think that I should have bought instead!

I'm loving my Ferragamo Marisa bag right now. It's just a bit over $1K, but it really does go with everything and is a comfortable bag to carry (it fits nicely on the shoulder). But it really depends on your personal style. Balenciaga's are great looking bags too, and a First can definitely go day-to-evening.

so dar, it's my balenciaga flat brass first in darkest brown and my chanel baby cabas in black

they both looks great dressed up and down, day and night!

Absolutely right choice! I'd probably go with Black City but I like bigger bags.

What you purchased is a great choice for both day and night. For me, I thought Fendi spy bag in black leather was great for both day and night. Currently, I really enjoy carrying it around.
