What's everyone's birthstone?

I'm June too and it's both -- some systems say alexandrite (it's actually a really pretty pale stone, usually lavender) others say pearl.

I LOVE pearls so I'm happy with those!

hubby's is emerald though, which is more acceptable (although prone to scratching) so maybe i should adopt that one instead.

Same here, I'm so glad I got diamonds because I'm not a fan of a lot of the other birthstones, oh and for the record I'm a Aries.

I'll have to check on this, but at one time I believe alexandrite was more valuable per carat than DIAMONDS, because they are so rare.

Hey Intlset, MndM! You guys ARE lucky! I got curious and priced out a one carat alexandrite versus a 1 carat diamond. These are wholesale prices. Both are cushion cut and approximately the same size and quality. Are you guys ready for this?:


Diamond: $4,220

Alexandrite: $7,275.

No wonder June was changed to pearls!!
