Lucky you !
Thanks so much!!
It's so funny you started this thread and discussion has been great! Guess what? I just bought my first LV mono bag (not including my keepall)! I was looking for a large tote and I was at the St Tropez LV and I bought the St Tropez summer print limited edition Neverfull MM. It's perfect for what I want to use it for! Only available from St Tropez store and St Tropez is the only location this summer! :happy dance:OK, so this is a totally first-world dilemma ...
I've never been a huge fan of LV because of the prominent logo and ubiquitous nature of some of their bags (literally, you can't walk through Boston on any given day without seeing a Neverfull ... or eight). I can appreciate why some people love them but have never felt the appeal. Part of it is, when LV logo-mania was at its height several years ago, I saw too many women carrying LV bags with a sort of superior attitude (not that most LV lovers are like this, but it's what I saw in the location I lived in at the time and it was a huge turn-off).
However, this is the second autumn in a row that I have felt myself strangely drawn to buying a Speedy B. Fall/winter is coming, and I'm feeling a definite itch for a higher-end bag that zips shut and is weather proof. I'm pretty sure the style will work for me as I have a couple of Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir bags that are essentially the same thing -- a zipped duffle with a cross-body strap. Longchamp is great but it isn't giving me the luxe feeling I'm craving. Basically, I want an easy-to-use, all-weather bag that still feels high-end. In that way, the Speedy B feels like the bag that should fill that void. As much as I love and use my H bags, I know that when it's sleeting in January, I'm going to be looking for a different option,
BUT .... -- and so many of you can probably relate to this -- another part of my brain is screaming, "But it's not H! And for that price, I could put that money toward another H bag -- or buy a new CSGM!"
So, I'm looking for some discussion to help focus my ping-pong-ing brain!Do you ladies have this bag? (I'm looking specifically at the Speedy B30 in Damier Ebene.) Do you find it goes against the H-fanatic's love of understated, non-logo'd elegance? Or does it simply fill one of those slots in a collection that H doesn't fill (I see my Chanel flaps as fitting in this category).
Would love any and all thoughts. Thanks!

I SO agree the quality is not the same as H BUT neither is the price. If a bag is functional for your current needs and the price is right, win/win. Different bags for different purposes. I only have 4 H bags, but I NEVER carry them to work. I don't want anyone to think they pay me too much. I need a raise!I want to add. The quality is not the same as H, even when you compare with H fabric lined bags. But it's light weight and the inside zipper and separate zipped pouch are very useful additional features to the bag. It's overall very functional. I can see why this design is so popular. It's great for rainy days and travelling etc.

Whilst I really love and am still collecting Hermes bags of different designs, I also love some of the designs from LV, particularly their capucines and cluny range and I really love epi leather. So strong and durable!

Exactly, I have my "good" bags, H, Chanel reissues and cerf totes. My current need is a lightweight, carefree, cross body for quick errands and outings with my 1 & 4 year old granddaughters. I was debating on a TPM Evy, but I already have a PM Evy that is too "good" for these outings with my babies. I've decided on a LV pochette, just trying to decide on the width of the DE adjdustable strap to go with it, 12mm or 16mm. This bag will fill a completely different need. Plus in a dozen years or so, I'm sure one of those babies will be happy to have it gifted to them. Win/win.I totally agree! Can't expect H quality in other lines, but you can still get pretty good quality and much lower prices with some other designers. As you said, different bags for different purposes ...![]()
Amen to that, sister.Or they might think that you need to stick around because you have an expensive handbag habit to support [emoji6][emoji6][emoji23]
