You could check out some Chloe bags, if budget allows. They have some really stunning brown bags out and the variation in shades is quite wide between the styles. They are fairly casual, though, in my opinion. I personally wouldn't call most of their styles a "day to evening" look, so you might want to have another brown bag that is more formal for evening/dressy times.
I personally have only one dark brown bag, and it's a vintage no-name cutie in chocolate suede that I got on eBay about 5 years ago for like ten cents LOL! (Actually it was probably like five bucks) I love that little bag, though! That being said, I'm trying very hard to resist a preowned Birkin in dark chocolate at a resale store near me. I guess if I bought that one, it would almost average out to a reasonable price, with the hilariously inexpensive but nicely made little vintage cheapie!
