SUMMER READING! Chick lit recommendations?

If you like yourself a big ol' Thick Madame of Lit, chick or otherwise, Vikram Seth's A Suitable Boy will keep even rapid readers occupied for a while.

And though you've probably read it all already, but appreciate a good re-read, anything by Bapsi Sidwa, Zora Neale Hurston, Amy Tan, or Louisa May Alcott.

i love all the books you mentioned.. jennifer weiner is fantastic. my favorite of all time has to be getting over it by anna maxted. i like my chick lit to be thoughtful and humorous- not too flimsy if you know what i mean!

I love Amy Tan and Anita Shreve though they are not strictly "chick-lit".

Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress by Sarah Jane Gilman is a hilarious collection of biographical essays a la David Sedaris.

I know I'm late to the party but I just read The Nanny Diaries and I enjoyed it very much.

Enjoy your summer!
