I got my Matinee from the same seller a few of us have gotten some great bags from, turns out it's a Mini Matinee! Really a great size, but I wanted longer handles on it. I really love the bag, it's so cute! (grey and white striped lining) 
handles look perfect...did you have the right color on-hand?
Yes, I usually save crossbody straps in case I ever need to make handles. I never really wear anything crossbody anyway.
I will only go crossbody if it's an optional strap and I'm carrying luggage or something like that
Looks so cute! How does the mini matinee size compare to the regular matinee? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mini matinee in person!
It's great, better than the leather on my wine Mattie, but I've found all of the leathers with the grey and white striped lining to be really nice.
I think this one is maybe 11" across but I will measure later today. The straps did fit over my shoulder pretty comfortably but I thought it looked better with longer straps. I had never seen one in person either!
