Mine is the crunch leather. It is thin but appears strong, and it is glazed over the top. From my understanding, it eventually will age and begin to reveal the color underneath (though I'd like it to stay this deep color forever!). I believe it is cowhide leather.
I think My Heroin is much softer and squishier and I think it is a lambskin. It is probably a little more delicate than the crunch leather, but the softness is an even trade-off for a lot of people.
Both are great bags, but I'm a little too hard on bags to have a lambskin bag!
