Long term storage?

If you do store stuff at a friend's house and you want to insure it, you can perhaps ask them to add the items to their homeowners/renters policy and then reimburse them. We did that when we went on a long trip for several months and it worked out very well.

Ask a friend or relative. Even the best storage units, the ones with controlled air and humidity...safest possible have problems. There aren't enough guards to secure properly. And, well, you don't know the people next to you. What kind of shape their things were in to begin with. Had a friend who had a HORRIBLE experience.

Thanks...those are good points!

I guess I don't have a choice for my furniture (luckily it's just a few tables and a chest...nothing upolstered...and kitchen stuff/books)

But I couldn't rest if I didn't know my Picotin, scarves and Speedy were safe!
