I won a fake bag

I know you can only file one complaint.

If you file an Item not recieved, and then you recieve the fake bag, you won't be able to file a snad.

If you file a SNAD before you recieve the bag, you will have to send proof to paypal that you sent the bag back. So if you don't have a bag to send back then the seller will automatically win and you will be out money.

If you want to file a snad wait until you have the bag in hand.

Good luck

When I had to file a dispute for a fake bag (which I had received), I didn't have to prove that I had sent it back (which I hadn't, at that point), but then I didn't have to escalate to a claim; the seller just refunded me.

If it is the case, that if one escalates to a claim, one has to prove one has returned the item. Then, assuming you don't get any joy from the seller directly, BTBF, I would agree with 4thelov that you should definitely wait until you receive it (ridiculous at that may be!) before filing; just in case the seller refuses to refund at the dispute stage.

In fact, coming to think of it, I've heard varying reports about what people have been required to do by Paypal in the case of claims for fakes,

Some have been told to return the item, some haven't been told to do anything with it (and have posted threads asking what we think they should do with an unwanted fake!) and some have been told to destroy the item (as sending fakes through the post is illegal in the US); so I don't think there can be any hard and fast rule. :shrugs:

Either that, or Paypal employees don't always adhere to the rules?!

BTBF, I saw the link you posted to this bag on the Gucci Authentication forum and I would question the information that you were given about its authenticity. The authenticator didn't provide any specific feedback as to why this bag is a fake and responded to it and another bag's authenticity with simply "oh no." This seller runs the online consignment shop and has an eBay account where she has received 650 positive and glowing feedbacks for selling legit bags and no feedback indicating that she deals with fakes. I would wait until the bag arrives, as chloehandbags advises, but I also am not convinced that this bag is a fake. Maybe PM a Gucci expert on this issue?

Vanojr9, I am the one who looked at the Gucci bag. We are trying not to give out any details that would help counterfeiters selling better fakes. OP did email me regarding the bag and I gave her the details.

The seller is an online consignment store and not a specialist on selling designer purses, 650 positive is not all for purses. So, please keep that in mind. Also, I don't mean the seller selling all fakes. I hope to clear this with everyone. :okay:

^^Ahh, I didn't even think of the counterfeiting angle, thanks for clearing that up! I wasn't trying to challenge your authority, just check to see why the review was so short and her other bags looked basically ok (I only know LV).

I am no expert and have no authority. Just fortunate to have a few, and the messenger is one of them :P. Yup, my friend told me their LV looks good too.

Hi Tinpua! Welcome :wlae:

There are destinated forum for different desginer handbags, such as Coach, Gucci, Chanel. Chloe and Fendi. You can post the ebay auction link under the -- Authenticate This -- thread in each forum.

If you're new to ebay, you need to open an account in order to bid. To pay, you would need to open a Paypal account. Do not give out your credit card info to ANYONE, except Paypal.
