Help/advice pls: LV in New York City

I'm going overseas the upcoming thursday to stay in NYC for a week. I've never been there before, and I'm looking for advice regarding LV shopping there. Which store is the best? Is the 5th avenue store too big and unpersonal, and how is the stock/availability on products, can you get almost anything from the 5th avenue store?

I'm thinking about buying some shoes, and maybe the mono carryall, but don't know yet. Also: any opinions on the Hermès store on madison?

If you are going to Hermes anyway, you might as well go to the LV store on Fifth as they are very close to each other.

Also, the Fifth Avenue boutique usually has much more in stock.

When shopping in NYC 5th ave is heaven =],I belive Hermes is in Madison (Which is a short walk from the mothership). I have been to the mothership a couple of times ,and they are pretty friendly.
