Handle lacing on newer bags seems to fray more quickly

This is something I've been noticing for a while now. It seems that the lacing on newer bags seems to fray quite quickly, whereas the lacing on the older bags seems to be able to take much more use before starting to fray.
I see some really nice new style bags that are in good overall condition except for their handle lacing.
Is anyone else noticing this?

To tell you the truth I haven't noticed something, but I have many Bbags and I rotate a lot. I also not carry them that much from the handles, but I do put them on the crook of the arm. Most of my bags are from 2011 and about 5 or six from 2013-2015 and only this Mini City from 2016. On what year bags did you notice this?
