I think it look beautiful, and will wear in great over time, but if you prefer it to be super smooth, you could try a moisturizer, etc. like other people said. There are some threads on that and there's no real one option but you could read the thread for some pointers/experiences.
I love the distressed look though, and that is a keeper for me!

I think you shouldn't have any concern, leather is a natural material, and small differences happen. No concerns, your city is TDF, I hope I'll find one for myself. Congratulations!
