Coming back to US - Will they charge US tax?

When coming back to the US from Europe, does anyone know if you will be charged tax from LV purchases made in Europe? Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe there is a certain dollar amount that if you do not exceed you will not have to pay tax. Is that right? Anyone know the actually dollar amount? THANKS!

i dont know if they only give out one customs form for every US bound flight but coming back from the Philippines i think its $1000. you also have to give a dollar amount for any "gifts" you got while you're out of the country.

I just got back from france. The allowance is $800 per person, but you can use other members in your family that are with you.
