I leave all my hardware on. I put vinegar in the wash and scrub the brass with it. I think it makes a difference.
I've noticed dunked bags have been drying really fast in this heat lately. I did put a wallet in front of a fan. It dried faster and I noticed no difference than not using a fan. I kept checking on it though and making sure everything stayed lined up.

ETA:scrub the brass with a soft nail brush and vinegar.

I just got the glass jars and they have a lot of air in them. I felt a bit cheated as well when I looked at the size of the plastic container!!
Guess what? They just look like glass. They squish like plastic. A full jar weighs 4 1/2 ounces. The empty one better only weigh 1/2 ounce! I don't think that is possible. My old empty larger plastic jar weighs 1 1/2 ounces. If anyone has an old one they haven't opened, I'd be curious to know how much it weighs full.

I have two of the white plastics jars that I haven't used yet. One weighs 4.95 ounces and the other weighs 4.75 ounces. Looks like they aren't good with weights and measures.

I just noticed that the buttons on my Coach Poppy Groovy is coming loose. I have heard that this is easily fixable, but am not sure how? Anyone try fixing this? Any help would be appreciated. Sewing it back on would cut through the back of the flap.

Years ago, I lost one and Coach replaced it. I don't know if they would do that now, at least not for free. Is it a fabric or leather Groovy? Fabric should be easier for you to sew without stitching all the way through the flap.

It's a fabric one. I'm not a good seamstress at all. I suppose I can just bring it to a tailor or somewhere to fix if I can't do it. Also, is there gold paint or silver paint that you recommend to repair scratches on hardware? I have polished it using Brasso, but it's beyond just buffing them out. I am thinking painting may help, but again... such a newbie, don't have any idea.

I never had the white jar, so I can't say if it's changed formula. Maybe someone else can chime in...
Can anyone tell me if there's supposed to be an inner seal, inside the screw top on the new jars? Mine did not have that.
I know I am late to this topic, (I am catching up on posts).
I was also wondering about the same, buying on Ebay and getting something similar but not the same exact product. I recently got a container from Ebay, and the picture looked like the container was dirty. When I got it it was full, (no seal) but the product smelled like old and was partly separated. I just figured it was old and I am using it, it does the same job that my previous container, but I will be more vigilant in the future. Thanks for bringing this up.

Hmm, that's a difficult one. I have a Poppy cinch that has very similar leather, I think. It was called sparkle suede. This bag gets dirty just by me looking at it, it seems! Once I sprayed it with Scotchguard, I haven't had as many problems with it. I think I would try very lightly sanding with fine steel wool or fine sand paper. Take care that whatever you use isn't going to transfer a darker color. I've had that happen with steel wool before. Or you could try cleaning with vinegar and/or a magic eraser. I would avoid dunking and I don't think leather cleaner is correct for this type of leather.

Thank you so much for your suggestions, I have not tried yet but I will soon and let everyone know how it went. Now that you mention it, yes... it feels like suede but with some type of shiny finish.

I want to share something that have worked a miracle for me.

I thought that I just totally ruined a great bag a friend gave to me, she is moving and found it at the bottom of her closet, she doesn't even remember using it, she knows I love Coach so... THANKS TRISH!
It's a golden patchwork clutch, that looked like new but had a black spot (dot) right on the front, me friend had no clue what it was. So I did the usual.. first I tried to scrape it, then eraser, and then very carefully Coach Leather cleaner, Oh MY! it turned out to be ink and the stain got much bigger. I didn't know what to do, tried vinegar, the magic eraser.. it got worse and worse.
I went and bought metallic paint, my last resort to cover it up, but I couldn't get the same color, the area with the spot got damaged somehow and was absorbing the paint/conditioner differently than the rest.... I was so upset.
When I was putting my paints back in the cabinet I saw something else that I told myself... what the heck, I have nothing to lose.
Rub'n Buff in Antique Gold (I had use in metal only in the past), and perfect! So happy now.
Here are before and after pictures.

That's amazing!! Will the Rub n'Buff also work on something like hardware?

The tube says that it is for most surfaces. When I first read on here (thanks to whoever first mentioned this product), they used it for hardware actually, it covers fine scratches on turnlocks, etc... I got some that I have used a couple times on the straps rings, turnlocks... it really helps. As it is a wax and wax is not recommended for leather, I never thought of using it on it, but I was in a tough spot, LOL
Since then I have used conditioner on that area, and it is soft, not rubbing off... great! That's why I felt I could share.

Hi Ladies!

I have this beautiful bag from a few years ago. I used it a lot, but the finish white dye/polish/paint is coming off - See photo below. What can I do to restore it? Isn't there some white product that would work?

Thanks for your suggestions.

And here is the bag. s-l400.jpg

Another inky one I'm working on... I used the Leather Master dye transfer remover, applying it with a flat eyebrow brush. I did at least 15 applications, letting it dry a few min in between. Not erased, but faded enough to make covering and blending much easier.
I think I can do even better next time with the detail brushes I got at Tandy yesterday. Those things look like needles! BTW Tandy has a wholesale pricing sale on everything thru today and looks like it's good online, too.
