Backpack club

I was sure I wanted a Chanel backpack for so long, but I am still considering if this year's offering is right for me.. I was thinking about the large so I can fit more stuff. But I'm wondering:

- will the lambskin be too delicate? I don't have any lamb bags and I would want to wear a backpack a LOT. The weather is not great in London either

- are the straps too thin? They also look quite delicate in photos. I don't plan to fill it up but definitely compact camera, makeup bag, notebook, wallets, sometimes ipad..

- do you miss an external pocket? I know this is the kind of thing that drives me crazy but it might be ok since this one opens easily, not like the gucci that has a whole buckle thing. And at least it has the sliding pocket

Any further thoughts )? Thanks so much! I'd love to see mod shots aswell if anyone has...

I'm also considering ordering a vintage one, but the condition/price ratio really puts me off. Any vintage backpack users please do tell
The lambskin has held up well. The straps are just fine, I put all my daily essentials in it and no problem. There is a pocket on the back.

I have had my Urban Spirit Backpack for a few months now, large size. The lambskin is holding up well. The top flap where the chain strap is threaded gets a crease (sort of) but it does not bother me at all....I think it is a very fun and useful bag. I recommend it.

Ah nice to hear about someone mentioning this crease. I also bought one and have been using it and the crease is starting to worry me...It's folding quite a bit, to a sharp point in the middle and I wonder if it could crack . Wondering if anyone else had this experience. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post

Good to know! I had a tinge of regret getting this after I saw a quilted bucket bag posted on TPF a few days ago. I just thought that the bucket bag is more age- appropriate (Ha... Ha... I'm no longer in my 20s!). I'm still keeping this coz I love it.
Get the backpack too!!! You can carry a backpack no matter your age. I am not 20 any longer either and I love mine. Holds all your essentials and hands free, it's a great bag!

My mom needed a backpack for when she is travelling, and although I was against backpacks in general, after looking at almost every brand's backpack (MCM, Gucci, Prada, Longchamp, Ferragamo, Versace, Mulberry...) I became a convert. They just looked so darn cute on mumsies!

I was 100% sold on the idea of the Chanel backpack being perfect for her, it was classy but casual and super cute. It had really nice soft leather and the tie part was very secure, and it had a flap over so it was pick-pocket proof. The straps were flat leather compared to the Seoul collection backpack which was only a chain.

After trying it on.. Just 1 aspect of it turned her off, and I agreed: The chain never really stayed on perfectly even. When you looked at it from the back, you could see that the chain part shifts to one side or the other. I attached pictures to show this.

Because of this, we ended up going with the LV Lockme backpack.

The backpack itself is beautiful, and if it was me that was buying it I may have chosen the Chanel because I would carry it on my hand most of the time. I wish they could have a fix so that the chain stays even.

I hope this helps for those that are making a decision.

Just want to let everyone know about the chain/straps being uneven that when you put the backpack on, what makes the chain/straps go uneven is when your putting it over one shoulder then the other shoulder. So, all you have to do is when it's on your back pull the straps to even out the chain/straps out and you don't need a mirror you can tell they're even by the feel of the straps and I've had no problem with it staying even when I'm wearing it [emoji4]
