Well, VV was having a 30% off sale so I decided to go take a look. I almost didn't go since they're having a 50% off sale in 5 days! I ended up not going to as many as I normally would because of it.

Anyway, this is my favourite find: a Mackage trench coat! I don't know if anyone outside of Canada knows about this brand, but they're amazing. Their stuff is so fitted and fashion forward, but pricey....this one retailed for around $600, which of course I wasn't going to pay :P.

It was $14, which was more than I wanted to pay...it would have only been $10 in a couple of days! But I just couldn't risk it, the coat is gorgeous!

It's military style and has lambskin leather accents at the collar and the shoulder. There are even wires at the collar and along the chest! The sleeves are even removable! This company's thought of everything!

Even the lining is gorgeous. It has contrasting colours and even a pretty pleated ruffle running along the inside:

Also got this neat hinged top purse for $3.50:

Also found a vintage looking red/black wool coat for $10.50. I've been looking for one forever! All of the other ones have been way too boxy for my tastes, but this one is amazingly fitted...you can tell by how the buttons line up. They form a straight line when you're wearing it!

The only problem is those horrible shoulder pads...those have gotta come out! They are really, really, 80's.

The buttons are beautiful:

Finally, some random knicknacks:

I couldn't believe the jewelry box was so cheap! It's pretty big and just amazing. I think it would have been at least $20 anywhere else.

The wings sold me on the swans. They're moveable! Turns out they're salt holders, and I saw a pair on ebay go for around $100! Didn't expect that at all.

Finally found a mirrored vanity tray for $1.99, but this one's pretty small:

I can't wait for Monday !
I was so excited about the scarf that I forgot to tell you, that is a beautiful trench coat!

Hey girlies long time no browse. Today VV was having a 30% event. I know, but I rushed over anyways. VV prices are cray crazy and it reminds me of shopping inside a Ross but with more merchandise. I way overpaid on some items (shame on me!) but the weather was so beautiful and I justified spending nearly department store clearance prices.
I hope these show up, they didnt last time.

Made an outfit with the items!

$12 Talula sweater. Canadians will know the brand and the crazy cult like following they have. VV had another in red but that was $20 instead. This is so warm and comfortable, but only contains a small percentage of cashmere.

$6 shirt with open back. In thrift store logic, this is too much but the sun brainwashed me. Simple yet interesting. Tout es ceux brand.

Most form fitting and comfy pants I've EVER tried on! This is a pair from Bedo (exp. mall brand) and my HG pants for sure. They are black irl. Love the pockets and the stitching

Brand is This is a tshirt  Couldn't resist. This is my new casual yet cool lounging tee. "Oh what this? Just threw this old thing on...."

Not sure of authenticity, I was pawing it over and over in the store trying to see if it was real. But I just had to have it, perfect summer shorts (a bit loud) and makes my petite arse look nice. I hate loud stitching but don't mind when its $15

Wilfred cardigan marked at $8, bit undermarked. A bit long but so comfy like the other one!

Sweating at this point. Sweating in my sweaters.

Those shorts are super cute and they look like the newer style my hubs has the same jean pattern!

Krissy love your tote! Super cute!!!
Raven so excited about your first Hermes scarf, first of many, I almost bought a fake one too' always look at the details in the drawing. Real armed have very thin lines and don't bleed outside the lines. Also hand rolled edges facing the bright part of the scarf. Hermes always has an accent. And they have a heavy feel to them. They are not light and flimsy. I would keep it to use as a comparison it can help you in the future!

Emmie I love the see by Chloe shirt! Keep it!! Adorable!

LadyAsh! If you get the job you better hook us up with discounts!

Love the mackage dress Wildfurry!

I grow foxgloves, I love them. My foxes had mange a few years back. I contacted a wonderful woman in the UK through her website. She told me I needed Ivermectin, which is what I give the Chows each month to prevent heartworm. She said according to their weight they needed 1 dose for 3 weeks. It worked and they have been mange free.

Raccoons can be nasty. I have one, but rarely see him. They get into everything and are kind of destructive, but cute. Do you have groundhogs in CA? I have a family, they are fine now that I don't grow tomatoes. Otherwise they move their den close to the tomatoes and eat them all.

I live by a lot of wooded area & a poor fox that had mange was sitting in the flowerbed just looking really confused. A few times it came up to the back porch & sat under the grill looking in the window. A neighbor said that they noticed a lot of the foxes around the area have it.

Chowlover2 asked me about the quilting and how I get the pattern on there. Like with the white quilt. That is free hand machine quilting in the style of Harriet Hargrove. It's all cotton material, thread and batting so it gives the appearance of turn of the century quilts. They did lots of .25 inch "echo quilting" ... which is what I do. I do lots of stippling and I figured out a continuous line quilted father wreath.

I did that by staring for several years at thousands of quilting books. And also by quilting like a mad woman. those days around 9-11 were some of my most prolific quilting days.

I was obsessed.

I don't draw stencils on quilts. I find that whole concept ... trusting that the ink or pencil won't show really scary. So I don't do it. With wreaths, I use a plate ... and the lightest dots of pencil ... erasable. Then it is easy to echo.

But it took me years. I also stopped piecing quilts once I realized that I do not have the hand skills to make the elaborate masterpieces that some women can and did back mid-century. That stuff .. ends up at flea markets and eBay. So I went thru a time when I collected unfinished tops and quilt squares and applique that is so amazing and elaborate but it was never quilted.

The pink and white freakin' circular stars I bought off eBay and set into a quilt top ... and then I quilted it elaborately. So. I guess. I'm a Specialist.

I like to piece ... but I LOVE to quilt.

mmmmm

I'm sorry that was so long. I'll show you more if you like. I did get all of them second hand. and I made some from thrifted materials so I guess it is not off topic. I specialized in star quilt tops for a time. But also in 9 patches ....

I just re-kindled a coupon love and got 15 bottles of SH at CVS for what amounts to New Math $8 ... hahaa return of the Coupon Queen! I ordered Azure, Chanel cancelled my order and then I was all ... Mother Fathers! Don't they know I need polish and lots of it!? ... so I went shopping ... I leaned on the cart ...

The fox story told by Ms. Chowlover was so cute. They are speculating that some dog breeds have come from foxes and not wolves. These is this crazy Russian guy who has domesticated foxes and has several generations of them. The ones bred in captivity have changed their coats and started making a sound that resembles baring.

Nice polish haul! How dare they cancel your order at Chanel.

I called and they said they do not know why it was cancelled so ... I yelled at them in an outrageous fake French Accent. I told her her mother was a hamster and her father smelt of elderberries!

Then I threw a Cow at Sir Karl ...
