Hi everyone,

I’m looking into getting a YSL zipped card holder but can’t decide between the Cassandre matelassé with the monogram (in SHW or BHW) or the fragments zipped Card case with the more subtle logo with SHW (see images).

Does anyone have experience with (one of) these items? I would love to know more about the quality, durability, wear, chipping etc.

Thank you in advance!

Hey, this may not be helpful but I have had two of those horizontal card holders (from other brands) and I find that I am constantly having to guard against the cards falling out. They just do not seem to hold my cards well for some reason.

Anyway, aesthetically, I like them both but I have heard people complain about chipping on the black. If you are going to be using it in a way where it will rub up against other things, I would go with the silver.

I love the first one as I hear the hardware for black on black can easily chip. I have a YSL card holder myself and it’s held up pretty well in the 1 year I’ve had it

Thank you both for the input. Definitely will have to think about it if cards tend to fall out of these types of cars holders. Do you experience the same issue with regular card holders?

I have the one in the first pic, but in storm grey (fragments), and it’s one of my favorite cardholders. I love it. I haven’t had any issues with wear, or anything else. I only put 1 card per slot, and 1-2 cards with some cash in the zippered part.

I have the fragments zip card case in sea salt. It looks very practical and pretty, but the card slots are very tight. I can't put a card in each slot and they haven't stretched oiut much. I also don't really like how narrow the zip compartment is for putting cash. However, it still looks great after the 2+ years I've had it.

In regards to black hardware chipping, I have a small lou lou with bhw and have not experienced any chipping so far. I try to be careful about not hitting the hardware on anything. It still looks nice.

I have the first one in beige and another ysl wallet and if anything, the slots are tight on both so no issues with cards falling out haha

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the items. Do you use them all the time or do you alternate between these and other card holders? In my case, I would use it as my daily card holder.

My husband had the same design of the first one with silver hardware, he just chose the version with the small YSL logo in the corner. He really loved it, it was durable, held cards no problem and had no quality issues.

The only reason he ended up buying something else about a year later, was that:

1) the zipper compartment really can't hold much, and he's a guy whole prefers to carry cash bills and isn't the kind of person to use coins, let alone put coins inside the zipper compartment
2) because bills were hard to fit in and he couldn't fit many inside the zipper compartment, he slid a money clip onto it, which worked for a while, but he ended up getting a cardholder that came with a money clip attached from Burberry.

That's just his personal experience and preferences though. If you're not the type of person to carry a lot of cash or you've decided to use that zipper compartment for some coins and not much else, I still think it's a great compact cardholder to have!

I have had 3 YSL cardholders and 1 YSL wallet in my lifetime, the oldest one being 5 years old. I've only sold 1 due to the color not being my thing anymore. All of them have held up very well and my oldest cardholder I definitely used everyday for at least 3 years before I started to rotate my SLGs. Like others have said, the card slots start off very tight, but that's because the leather is very stiff. It will eventually soften a little over use, but it will still be pretty secure.

Hope that helps! Happy shopping!

I have been using this card holder in Rogue Legion on a daily basis for a little over a year. I love it. The card slots are secure, almost a little tight and it holds a decent amount of cash if you fold it. It has very little wear and I am not very gentle with it. I would actually like to get it in another color because I love it so much. I am hoping for something fun like a bright blue or green to be released one day :)
