Yurman petit Wheaton - morganite ?

Hi! Does anyone own a DY morganite ring? I'm thinking ahead for a special birthday gift for a special person. All the Bloomies SAs say that the morganite will be discontinued very soon because the mines are drying up. But the Yurman store has no knowledge of such. More importantly, do you think the Morganite is too light of a color? Thanks!

I don't own any DY but morganite is a gorgeous stone.

You'd have to see the actual ring in person. Morganite, like any stone, will have variations in color.

I have and love my DY pieces. However, for the price of the DY petite wheaton morganite ring in Sterling Silver, I could find one in 14kt gold with a full diamond halo.

I have the petite Albion in Morganite. I love it, but it is very light. That's one reason I picked it...it's quite neutral.

I am leaning towards morganite because it is so neutral. I really hope to find out correct info if it will be discontinued. I wish I could buy one for myself but this is a gift.

If DY is going to discontinue morganite pieces or specifically the petite wheaton, it won't likely be because the mines are "drying up". Unfortunately, unless you know a good sales associate who will tell you, it'll be hard to know for sure.

I just got off phone with another SA in a David Yurman store. He has not heard of any shortage or discontinuation of morganite. So I'm not too worried now. Hopefully it will be available in a month when I'm ready to purchase.
